I'd have to say EJ is the better player, and that's despite seeing Terrell have a few good games against us over the past couple of years. I was hoping we (the Riders) would go for EJ in the summer but ah well. He is doing a good job for you. Obviously Minor would dominate him when they play each other.haha. But it's no shame in having the second best PG in the league. Where is Terrell playing this season?? Edited by AP88, Nov 5 2009, 03:32 AM.

Being a Riders fan I would go for Minor as the top point guard in the league. It may be a slightly biased view but he did win player of the month and he leads the league in assists and is second in scoring. I also think that when he steps in to top gear he can go to an unplayable level that is above anything I've ever seen at Riders. As I've already mentioned I'm a big EJ fan. Yanders has got to be up there as well, as he has been for about 6 or 7 years. I would probably go with Jackson and Patton as well although I was really impressed with Zabas when we played Worcester. We haven't played Chester or Glasgow yet so I haven't seen Sapp (if he is a point guard) or Peterson play and I missed our game against Everton so I can't really comment on them. |

Both guys are awesome, its even in my mind. Puff Daddy is probably the better scorer though but I really liked Browns attitude |

They are all different types Minor is the most explosive pg in the league in years (since the heyday of John Thomas and TJ Walker). But his defence isnt great (check out the numbers that the pgs who play against him are putting up every week) and he is reliant on having the ball in his hands all of the time. Harrison is far more of an old school point guard with the ability to get the ball where it needs to go in a unspectactular manner. Sometimes the pass that leads to the pass which counts as the assist is just as important in identifying and establishing mismatches. He also has his team winning. Yanders is the best pure shooter out of the pgs Patton is playing as more of a pure shooting 2 with sharks anyway. Jackson has an excellent midrange game but at times struggles to make the right decisions. So I suppose basically it all depends what you are looking for. Personally I look at wins ahead of every other stat and for me Harrison would have been player of the month ahead of Minor (Shooting 68% whilst leading a team to 6 straight wins) as Minor is being rewarded for the fact that his team plays at a faster pace (more shots, more scores, more assists) than Harrisons. |

I think your point about Harrison having his team winning is a very valid one. Having said that, I couldn't ask much more of Tack in any of our losses. The reason why Riders have not won more games is their defence. If Riders team defence was up to scratch we would be 7-2 and could well be 8-1. We are obviously going to give up more points than most teams because of the pace we play, but our defence against a set offence has been poor. Whilst Tack must take a portion of the blame for that so must the other players on the court. Our inability to defend other teams bigs, as opposed to pg's, has been more of a problem in my opinion. I do take your point about his D though, as it isn't one of his strengths.

The trouble with minor is that he is a scoring point guard and like dave f says he needs the ball. For me it is better to have a pg that gets the whole team involved and is more interested in running his team than scoring points. Harrison does do a good job at this. Davef also touches a good point, how is it that coach of the month generally goes to the coach that has the best record but the player of the month goes to anybody, not to take anything away from minor. |

I have to admit I did wonder if it was appropriate to give the award to him after such an act- but I was sure I would just be criticised for making such a comment! |

As most of you have said. The best PG is probably between Minor,Harrison & Yanders. I must say that our own Evaldas Zabas has developed really well into the PG role here at Worcester. He came to us more as a SG/Back-up PG but, since the departure of Anthony Martin back to Plymouth, has grown in stature and confidence with every game. As the stats show,he's very efficient and gets the job done really well. Also,as the photo below show's,he's not afraid to take it to the hoop!!(Even against rival 7'-0" centre's.) C'MON YOU WOLVES!!
