The Cheshire Jets flew though the opening rounds of the BBL Cup to earn themselves a quarter final clash at home to Newcastle. The Cheshire Jets are still unbeaten at the Northgate so far this season and with a pass through to the quarter finals of the BBL Cup aren’t fearing last year’s winners. The Jets beat Glasgow rocks at the weekend meaning they now take on the Eagles on the 8th of November. The Jets had been due to face Leicester Riders but that match has had to be postponed until Saturday the 3rd of April.

Captain James Hamilton said;

“The team are very excited about being in the quarter finals of the cup, we have a few young players in our squad who have never won silverware before and are hungry for the opportunity to add to our trophy cabinet. We know it’ll be a tough game and the Eagles will be strong opposition but with the quality of players we have in the side and the backing of our fans we fear no one. “

Coach Smith said;

“This is the first time that we will have welcomed the Eagles to the Northgate for a year. The squad are ready, we’re starting to play good team basketball which is a common element for teams that win trophies. We know the Eagles were the best side in the BBL last year but that doesn’t worry us. I’ve seen the guys in training they’re hungry for this cup tie. I think it will be difficult for the Eagles to come to the Northgate, we have some of the loudest and loyal fans in the league and we are yet to be beaten on home court - it will be a closely fought game.”

The BBL Cup final will be played at the NIA in Birmingham on Sunday the 17th of January 2010.

Jets take on the Eagles on Sunday the 8th of November at the Northgate Arena 5.30 tip off. Tickets are £12 for adults, £7 for children, and £9 for concessions. All Jets members get £2 off their ticket, Jets season tickets are valid for this game.

Well you've already beaten Everton this season so why should you fear last year's Cup winners

Let's see what happens when you play last season's Trophy winners

Looking forward to coming to Northgate again - Mr. Offshore is a "Cheshire away virgin", so he's really looking forward to visiting.

Should be a great game.

OOTA are on their way.

I hope you do actually meet last years winners at some point - although you will not be meeting them in the quarters!!!!

Last years winners of the competition were the Tigers - so hopefully see you in the final.

All in all it's been a rocky road,
Twists and turns along the way,
But, I still pray for tomorrow
All my hopes, my dreams

Theres no danger of The mayor transferring his allegience to a winning team is there, mind you would that mean he would also have to support Chester F.C.!!!!

Second thoughts Colin, stay where you are!!!

And before we get any smart comment from RG about my spelling, its hard typing on a Spanish keyboard, letters seem to be in a different place :roflol2
