I assume this must be Attiba Lyons with 5 league & 1 cup Victories in October already.

The remaining games in October are MKL v Sharks ( so Attiba could add 1 more W to that )
& Heat have one more game,

Eagles have 4 League & 1 Cup W in October, so as far as I can work out , no-one can surpass Attiba's win count .

Well done Attiba, a good turn around from last season, and a promising start to this season
:hug

Actually, there are a few more games on Saturday night. If Lions win both of theirs this weekend then Vinces record should match Attibas. But is the decision already made by then?

Is there anywhere that shows a list of results? All I can see on the BBL site are fixtures, same on the Sharks site. Lions site subsitutes the time for the score after the game.

The BBL site really is terrible. I can't even see a league table.

I have no problem with Attiba being Coach of the month. But I would consider Chad McKnight and Tim Lewis in the running! I do you select Coach of the month? I always had a problem with the coach with the best record or who wins the championship the coach of the year. Hell, I could have won NBA Championships, with some of the teams Phil Jackson has had. Consider Tom Lewis performance winning two games and being in several games that they lost. Who would have predicted before the season started, that the Pirates would win two games the entire year. The job Chad has done with the Heat is Awesome, The HEAT are the hottest team in the League, and doing much better than I expected, what about you??? I just think a lot more goes into being the best coach than just wins!! Anyone want to nominate the worst coaching of October?

I agree I think Lewis should be in the running but it does tend to go to the most successful coach without taking into account the bigger picture.

Actually if Lions win both their games this weekend(and it's a BIG IF), the Vince would have a better record than Atiba

Number 6- Sharks 2 losses, Lions 1 loss!!!

All pointless discussions of course as Lions could lose both!

You are right glenn, but i think it would be a positive statement from teh league.

They are a new team with a limited budget and a predominantly english line up and they have been competitive with two wins already!

Start a rally for Tim Lewis Coach of the month. Might be the only opportunity for some coach other than a front running team to win!

titmuss is more deserving than lewis with the way his team has coped with 3 major injuries so early.

If lewis had won 4 games maybe but only 2 and with one of them being capital and a home loss to winless worcester I dont think it can be said he has done enough.

are you kidding me davef?

The budgets of titmus team and lewis team are not even comparable.

Tell me how many wins you thought southend would have at the end of the season? Its about expectations and getting the best out of what you have got, tim has exceeded that this month... so what if essex beat the lions?

one of pirates wins was against the similarly disorganised and budgetary restricted capital.

The second was against injury ravaged worthing.

They are good results agreed but they dont offset three 20 plus point defeats on the road and a home loss to 0-5 worcester to put him ahead of everyone else.

Incidentally having seen them on sunday i reckon he has 5 BBL ready players now (Adu, Metcalfe, Rodrigo, Mumuni, Williams) and will make a few more into BBL players before he is finished (Toluwase, Sing in particular). They will be a success on the court this year but he will be more likely to be c o m in jan or feb when he has worked out his team and his strengths than now.

Davef has some good points! However, I doubt that in feb. when the race is coming to the back stretch that underlinings will get any praise. I just would like to see reward for overcoming obstacles and hardships. All to often that goes overlooked and the stars (high profile teams) are reward, for meeting expectations, not overcoming expectations.

britball what is Worthing's budget this season? I've been dying to know, but its hardly public knowledge. All I know is that we are on one of the lowest budgets and the director's plan when taking us into the BBL was always to be financially prudent to ensure the franchise's longevity. I realise Essex must have the lowest budget of all teams, but you can't seriously write off Titmuss because he had more money than them to spend (and no doubt a lot less than other teams like Sharks who are being talked about here for COM honours). Im not saying Titmuss should be COM but lets just remember his pedigree when we talk about how big (which it isn't) his budget has been to get good players (some of which are now injured).

Obviously no one that saw Worthing play on Sunday is ever suggesting that Titmuss recieve coach of the month, that is possibly the most ridiculous suggestion I ever heard. I am still in shock that a team can play that badly and win.

I'm also not suggesting Capitals coach wins a thing either (far from my favorite coach in the league - I even prefer Fab) but having one win this early in the season and losing to Plymouth (away) by only 5 points is more than anyone expected.

Yes, it almost certainly is, as is every other teams (apart from maybe London?). But I can guarantee you something - the final standings for the league will not be in order of who had the biggest budget running down to the smallest. It's a bit of a moot point as we're discussing coaches who won't even be in the running for the award this month! I do like to see the 'smaller' franchises do well though as it takes more hard work, dedication and perhaps just a small slice of luck to get there than if you can simply go out and buy more proven or experienced (won't say better because nothing is guaranteed when you sign someone) players. And if the coach from such a team picks up a COM honour that's also nice to see as you can bet he is having to work really hard and is doing a fantastic job getting the most out of what he has to pick up some wins.

Would have to agree, VINCE does deserve it, they have the best record and at the beginning of the season, I would not have predicted them to be in the top four much less # 1.

Atiba has more wins but no doubt Vince is a worthy winner with a 6 game win streak
