Coalville Cougars need your support as National League basketball comes to Coalville. This historic day for Coalville Basketball Club takes place this Sunday 25th October at the Hermitage Leisure Centre as the Cougars host their first ever EBL game. For one game only all Leicester Riders season ticket holders will have free entrance as the Cougars take on Reading Rockets II in this crucial match up. The game starts at 5pm and doors open at 4.30pm. Along with the great family atmosphere you will be able to take advantage of the great facilities at the Hermitage Leisure Centre. Maybe have a dip in the pool before the game or have a drink with the players in the bar afterwards? We look forward to seeing you there! For more information about the Cougars please visit www.coalvillebasketball.co.uk |

Swimming Badger, I hope your reply was in jest because progressive clubs like Coalville will likely provide future players for the Riders. They deserve our support and the reality is they're only charging £3 for an adult ticket and need all the funds they can get to grow the club further... The offer for Sunday is very generous and Coalville should be applauded for their work in generating support for the club. I'll get off my soapbox now! (And no, I have absolutely no connection with Coalville Cougars before you ask) |

rebrand the team as Riders 2 and play on a Saturday night before the main game and it'll make more sense. Why should I travel 15 miles to watch a D4 game when the Warriors play down the road and charge the same? |

If Riders ran their own second team it would probably be called Riders 2 and playing in Leicester. The Coalville Cougars EBL team is part of Coalville Basketball Club, hence playing in Coalville. There are no plans to move Coalville closer to Leicester You don't have to travel 15 miles, its just an option if anyone wants to and I hope some will. Actually many Riders fans don't live in Leicester so could be an option for them. Obviously its not for everyone. In the long term we hope to generate support in North West Leicestershire as the area doesn't have a team in the EBL. Edited by Riders Fan, Oct 24 2009, 09:25 PM.
