All-Star Posts: 1,036 Group: Member Member #481 Joined: August 10, 2006	Sadly and the ones you have got arent good enough, your starting 5 played the first 9+ minutes without any changes. Flato looked inexperienced, the only two who looked like giving the Jets a game were Hilliary and Valencia.

Rookie Posts: 59 Group: Member Member #149 Joined: July 17, 2006	Check out these stats. Matt Hilleary 25 points & 21 rebounds. Tino Valencia 24 points & 10 rebounds. 49/72 points between them. 31/44 rebounds between them. They can't do it on their own! Though TBF Raiders never gave up.

All-Star Posts: 2,337 Group: Member Member #266 Joined: July 21, 2006	most stunning stat is 3/29 That is the shooting numbers of the two guards who each played all 40 mins. Flato 1/17 : Gall 2/12 Need a plan B in those circumstances as that number will never win you a game ever.

All-Star Posts: 2,337 Group: Member Member #266 Joined: July 21, 2006	the fact that you have been in both games early suggests it is a depth issue not a talent issue. (albeit 3/29 for the guards! ouch) And playing and winning with only 5 senior players (let alone new ones) is virtually impossible in this league. Particularly when one of those guys is playing 40 mins a game after only playing 15 mins last year. With Noel fit you are 25% better, if hes out for a while then reinforcements are required quickly otherwise stronach is coaching uphill all season.

Flato : didnt play last year ; out of college Horton : German 3rd division Valencia : college hilleary : Ireland gall and noel : prob your two lowest paid guys last year. reality is that Gary has had his budget sawn off and to pay even more players would result in even less margin for error on quality.

I've read the comments on local newspaper website and some of the remarks are totally disrespectful and untrue (I suspect they're not real raiders fans are just trying to stir up trouble). i know alot of other teams have rookies this year, our problem is we have four, so they'll take time to adjust to each other and the league. we've been unlucky to have james injured even before the season started because i think he would have been in starting 5. also it will be nice to have some home games to help the players settle in, i'm sure they're not yet adjusted to 5+ hours travelling to games. A bit more patience, then see how we're doing before pressing the panic button. Edited by jonah, Oct 14 2009, 07:11 PM.
