We have not been able to say that for a long time. It really does look like the good times are coming back. We are beginning to look competitive. The Sharks ability to improve defensive intensity will determine our season. I am not sure whether Mat Gorman got any minutes last night, he was certainly dressed on Friday night. I thought the team ethos really did shine bright on Friday, we seem to rotate the ball very well, getting the ball to the man who was free. Thats Sharks basketball, long may it continue.

It is great to see the Sharks on top of table, it has been a long time coming and hopefully this season is the season we get the Sheffield Sharks name back in the headlines !

Excellent weekend for the Sharks, the team seems to be jelling well still think we are one player short on the bench. If we get any injuries like we had against Worthing i feel we are a little stretched.

Great to be top of the league but lets not get too carried away just yet its a long season.

....and we have not really played anyone yet! No offence but do not think Cheshire, Worthing, Capital nor Wolves will be around the top 4-5 this season with only maybe Cheshire and Worthing being shots at the playoffs.

We got drubbed at Leicester and until we play some of the better sides which I feel are Newcastle, Guildford, Everton and Rocks we won't be able to properly assess.

Is gorman back this weekend. I think a starting 5 of Patton, Cook, Lyons, Gorman, Toney is solid but our bench lacks depth outside of TC, Lawson.

sharkball is right but nevertheless it is still an encouraging start, particularly defensively after the blow out at riders (which given the pace the riders play at is looking better by the week)

and winning is first and foremost a mentality.

and its not as if the wins have been scraped.

Will be interested to see how Toney and Gorman play together. Both prefer the ball facing the basket which is unusual for big guys in this league.

Whilst I understand Sharkballs realism, I still think you are far too pessimistic.

Against Riders we were 2 of our returnees short , so for the opening game ( where it really counts ), we had to play Adrian Anderson , 28 mins & Ashley Chandley 8 mins ( or thereabouts ).
We have not fared well at DMU Leicester , for 3 or 4 years , so with being so short on starting 5 players & then Tod being fouled out before the end of the 3rd , it was forced to be a struggle.
But I thought we really played good team ball against Chester at home , and then scrapped out a really awfull game down at London, ( I'll keep my thoughts to myself, regarding this ).
Unlike most teams Sharks do train together , and scrimmage regularly & run through set plays, so Matt & Taps, have played against , and alongside each other many times,
I am certain that Matt will play this weekend, and although he is fit, I do think he will be used sparingly, so as not to put undue strain on his recovery too early on.
I think you are underestimating Todds resurgence, he is awsome at the moment, and Adrian is more than capable of doing just a holding job.

So a squad of Patton / Lawson / Cook / Gorman / Toney , with Lyons / TC / Anderon off the bench & Chandley is no mug shooting the 3 , I think is a pretty deep team.

Although I do think the Scottish Sharks ............ er Rocks , will be a big test, particularly as Sterling & Rob always want to play well against us, and I'm sure Steve Parrillon will feel he has a point to prove against us.
But these are the games you have to look forward to , and be ready to win,
This is like the Sharks mentality of the past, when we look forward with relish ( not Hendersons ) to a match-up against a potential top 4 opponent,
I also think Attiba , is running a much better regime this year,

So stop being pessimistic & look at all the possitive vibes around the Sharks again, I am confident that we will be amongst the Silverware this season.

Number6, cut me in half & it will say SHARKS SUPPORTER all the way through

Well said no6. However it is a little premature to predict trophies. If we stay healthy and continue to improve on team defense we will be there or thereabouts. Long way to go but let's enjoy the ride!
