a win yes, but maybe not by such a huge amount as i would expect Rob to maybe rotate the squad a little more than normal if the situation allows. |

I to think we could be in for a big win tonight, Between 25 - 30 points, We have more skill, depth and experience on our side plus were at home, Now another big and loud crowd should bring us the win,

Joe Matthews was EBL2 at Colchester Hornets last season Colin Sing (Sefton Stars) and Jamell Anderson (Nottingham Tribe) were both on TL's GB u20 Squad last summer Walid Mumuni is stepping up from Reading Rockets to the BBL Metcalfe, Wallace and Williams are I believe the only ones with BBL experience although I remember the name Simon Emmerson from somewhere and wondered if it was as a BBL bench player Edited by GlennHardaker, Oct 10 2009, 01:32 PM.

Came off the bench for Lions last season. An aggresive defensive player who can also shoot the 3 well. |

Excellent performances across the board (e.g. Adam Williams) meant we cruised to the win tonight. Best team effort in my opinion because our defence was intense and led to us breaking open Essex Pirates. Aaron Westbrooks a 3 point shooter of some class! Will really boost the bench's confidence that they are a vital part of Riders and it's not just down to a few fantastic players (Tack, Bradd etc). I love watching Riders because we improve with each game. |

All signs of a good coach and organisation generally - compare with the thread that's been running this week on the Wolves' forum... |

A win which was very easy for us in the end but for me was marred by Tack's ejection (if it does lead to a ban). How I saw the incident was : it was a tussle for the ball and Tack happened to throw out an arm- no need for it as the game was already dead with hardly any time left on the clock. I'm sure there was contact but as already said Rodrigo went down as if he'd been shot just as he had done only minutes early when Jason seemed to swing out an elbow in another tussle after collecting a rebound. I would have said this incident was actually worse but the refs didnt appear to have seen it. I have to say I was suprised Tack got ejected, I thought it would have been a technical at the most. The refs could have just let it go as the game was dead (although I know you should really always play by the rules). A needless incident on both Tack's and the ref's part, in my opinion. Quick question- does an ejection automatically equal a ban or can the BBL choose to recind it if they see fit? Also, can you appeal against the decision as didn't Everton appeal against a ban on Josh Gross last season, if I remember? As for the game, it was good to see everyone get good minutes. They had no way of breaking down our defence when we stepped it up towards the end, the shot clock seemed to be expiring on almost every play at one point with us scoring at will down the other end. I thought the few performances that stood out were- Jason, had yet another double double, Adam- very impressive, looked really good going to the basket and showed good D (agree with someone elses comment in an other thread re his game is much more rounded now). Aaron- didn't know he could shoot like that, awesome.

Thanks Ben My understanding is that an ejection automatically leads to a one-game ban. However, there is provision for an appeal and players continue to play until one is heard. However, most Riders fans on here seem to agree that Tack did hit out and make contact (irrespective of any continental theatrics) which would make an appeal unlikely, unless Rob is absolutely desperate for Tack to plan next Saturday. Given the apparent depth of Riders squad and the fact that Lions don't look the strongest team in the league, I would have thought that he'd leave it unless they really feel hard done by. Somebody more knowledgeable will probably undo all of that... Panthers fans spent plenty of time singing Adam's praises two seasons ago. It's true that he had a decent return on a poor team, but you still have to beat the opposition which he did with regularity. He is most effective when going to the hoop where his tenacity is just too much for many larger defenders. Playing for the Panthers also meant that he got lots of minutes defending in a mis-match situation - I'm sure he's learned from that. Lataryl had the same experience on the same team and Riders fans are well aware of his defensive abilities now. |

Unless the BBL's rules on discipline are different from EB's then a disqualification is not an automatic 1 match ban, it is decided by the disciplinary officer as to the number of points. A DQ is automatically 7 points, and a suspension is reached at 10 points. The officer has authority to increase the number of points given the perceived seriousness of the offence. Any ban comes into play 19 days after the incident, so if Tack is to miss a game it will be the w/e of 30/31st October. |

I don't think EB & BBL are the same. I've never seen a BBL player/team/coach in the EB bulletin where they show the disciplinary cases. NickM you say it was clear cut but many people didn't see anything happen and neither did Neil or Roger until the other ref (Wheatcroft I think) blew his whistle. If Tack did do that then fair enough he deserves a ban but I was told that they were bothon the floor fighting for the ball and tack was trying to protect it with his hands on the ball & his elbows out (as all good players are taught to do). Whether Tack caught him with his elbow I don't know but is that worth an ejection if he's only protecting the ball. As I said I ddin't get to see anything until Pablo fell because there were too many players in the way so I'm only recounting what I was told! |

Tack hitting the guy was no accident, my view was clear as anything. To the point I said "he's gone" before the ref even blew his whistle. He looked up, took his hand off the ball and hit out at him. Disqualification was the only call that the ref could make. Oh and just heard on the old grapevine it could be up to a 3 match ban, guess we'll have to see as to how true that is... |

Maybe the clue is that it is the EBL bulletin - just because the BBL players don't go on there doesn't mean that the BBL don't apply the same rules. The only difference I am aware of is that a coach DQ in EB is an automatic 10 point penalty and therefore 1 game ban, but a BBL coach can be "awarded" only 9 points. |
