Haven't seen a nail biter like that for ages, what a great win. We did just enough to keep on their tails then whatever coach T said in that timeout when we were 81-73 down worked wonders, but we still needed a bit of home court help from the hoops on Reggie's final shot. Love it! Reggie Bratton might just be the best player in the league this season based on early showings! |

What a difference a day makes. Reggie was on fire! Great team effort again though. We could have let is slip a one point but everyone dug deep and kept the faith that they coulg get a result. I was impressed with the performance whatever the result. To lift themselves after Friday, when they must have known the game could have been won if they played just a bit better and compete so well against a very good Rocks outfit shows that these guys are already forging a great team spirit. One, if not my best exerience at the Thunderdom! Well done everyone. |

Am I the only one thinking good result - poor Thunder performance? I thought that we were lucky. We managed to have enough gas in the tank for the final period and wore them down (and into foul trouble), we really need to work on our shot selection though as we were putting up some diabolical stuff last night. Gratz to Reggie for the points tally and i must say that I'm impressed with sam Cricelli. Thought Prezzie-Blue and Zafirov had an off night. But hey, a win's a win and if we can win playing that badly then it bodes well for when we are playing well I guess! |

As Chris says we didnt play particularly well for a lot of the game!!! The plus sides for me were obviously Reggie and another all round performance by KD. ALSO i THINK WE HAVE A BIT OF A SURPRISE GEM IN SAM CRICELLI - HIS REBOUNDING WAS TERRIFIC - HIS LAST ONE WAS VITAL!!! Also as I have said before it is finishes like that which the people who see it will always remember - hopefully it will bring them and more back next time!! A win is a win and Rocks were a good team - imo their number 6 Jesse Sapp oozed class!!! It looks good for the future!! DAVE

It was by no means a perfect Thunder performance, however, it was a very good improving performance. The Rocks looked like a mature team and knew what they had to do to get their buckets – pulling us into the key to fire out quick for 3-pointers. They could do this at will in the first half. Thunder are still very much work in progress, but that progress is very much evident. The team is being built on 5 or 6 new starters and they are already getting good results! It is a fantastic achievement. Last years team, as much as I loved them, would never have been able to keep up. The Rocks first half performance would have left them for dead. Make no mistake, this is a good Rocks team and they will compete hard this year. Yeah, we stole the win, but we fought hard to be in a position to do so. It was a game that other sides might have rolled over and died. We kept our heads and didn’t panic into trying to trade 3 pointers for 3 pointers. I don’t think they ever got ahead by ore than 11, and their perimeter shooting was red hot. I also thought that Richard just adds something on court that you can’t train. He had a quieter night that last week, but his presence just lifts people. He knows what the point to being a professional sportsman is. He knows why he is paid, and its not just scoring points or blocking shots and grabbing rebounds. He is paid by the club and plays for the club and its supporters – he is a total professional. I think this is true of all our players this year, but Richard makes sure you know it. Last night's game was one of the best value nights out I have had at basketball and the team looks like it will get better and better. Edited by Mr Flea, Oct 4 2009, 10:16 AM.

A cracking win last night. People are right we didn't play all that well and Rocks were dropping bombs on us throught that first half, one after another, Yanders was a pleasure to watch running that point and Sapp looks to be a great running buddy for him. BUT...the change for me in the fourth was when we played some man defence rather than zone, then we put that run together and got the w. Cracking finish for the fans, as Dave said, excitement like that is what gets the fans back. Gotta love Kadiri coming up into the stands after the game, that guy is pure heart and emotion, showing the fans the love and what he's all about, legend!! How about that Reggie Bratton guy? 31 points in 16 minutes!! 47 points, dam son. That last shot, as soon as it hit the rim I knew we'd get that leisure centre roll. Does he remind anyone else of Alfredo, lightning quick first step, smooth in the open court, nice shot, looks like a hell of a signing. Big things to come from him. |

Well I said in the BBL forum he reminds me more of Randy Duck, but yeah Alfredo too - basically these are guys who can do everything, they can score inside or out and defensively pick up some steals and cause problems for the opponent. I agree we can play a lot better than that and we definitely stole one, but that is what good teams do - you win the games you're supposed to win and battle and claw to win some of the ones you should lose. We should have lost last night, the way the game went with them leading most of the time and controlling the tempo. Even in the 2nd half when we stopped them getting open 3s, they simply found other ways to keep in front. Everyone owes Reggie a big thankyou for his performance but he can't always score that many and other people need to step up too. But no doubt they must have been tired after going up to Yorkshire and back the day before. I wonder if losing that game, when it sounds like we could have won it, actually helped them understand what was needed to come back and win this one? If we had to split the games 1-1 I'd sooner have beaten Rocks and got the home win for the fans, and we get another crack at Sheffield in 2 weeks anyway. |

the stats have yanders with 10 turnovers? And I assume it was Sapp who was guarding (or otherwise) Bratton? |

Yep I saw that stat, was 2 assists off getting himself a triple double... Didn't realise he'd racked up that many though till i saw that. Yes I think it was Sapp who was on 'cash'. |
