Would you advocate returning to the days of having a truly national junior league consisting of the top 10 or 12 teams in the country, with the north and south premier below that and the various conferences below them?
If we are truly going to develop then this is EXACTLY what we need. A Jnr "BBL" if you like so all the best players & coaches are concerntrated among 12 teams playing ultra competetive basketball every week. Each of these teams could work with half a dozen or so teams in the national league, helping them develop and moving players up or down accordingly.

Wildcat's observation that there are multiple stratergies of participation and elite development trying to coexist in the NL is correct.

So are we in agreement then that in fact, unless you were there it's not fair to say that a coach who wins by such a comprehensive margin "should not be coaching"?

Very surprised at the result with Magic U13 v Reddish Rebels, thought that Reddish should have been alot better than they were on the day.

Credit to the Magic Coach, who after getting a huge win over the previous game with Woodchurch, changed the offence early on, and the result was a comfortable win and a much better game to watch.

firstly would it be possible to run some sort of tournement within the different regions at the start of the season to sort out the stronger and weaker teams. so that teams are more evenly matched.

secondly i was under the impression that national league teams had to be coached by somebody holding a level 2 coaches award or above for the team to be covered by insurance.

I need to make this very clear before we enter into another debate about huge winning margins.

The Ipswich U18 team played conference last season and didn't get a competitave game until the play-offs. They also made the quarter final of the sure-shot cup. They applied to play premier division this season but EB rejected their application. When Ipswich asked again highlighting the fact that they now have an (very good) academy programme and that these players were going to be training every day, EB still didn't move them up to a premier division.

This Ipswich team is good, but not exceptional. They would be a mid-table to strong premier division team this season and next year will be decent - not final fours but not far off. The fact that they have a good set-up in Ipswich and now a strong academy programme should have been considered when organising the divisions. I would expect them to again not get a decent game until the play-offs or the cup.
