Unlikely I know, but worth a look. Seeing as they never did, I'm not going. 35 quid, plus booking fee, plus postage, for the cheapest tickets available at any stage, is absolutely ridiculous. Having been both the last two years I know what I'd be getting for my money, and it's just not even close to worth it. Screw 'em.

Actual match seems secondary to the event and talking to any 'celebrity' in attendance. When the match is given some time the commentators are Darren Fletcher who seems to know nothing about basketball and Amaechi!!

Starter Posts: 821 Group: Member Member #64 Joined: July 12, 2006	it's an absolute joke. the guy on courtside, the radio guy, called a free throw a "three pointer", and the guy doing play by play/colour doesn't know how long an NBA quarter is. or what the three second rule is. how is this man being paid for this? you'd think you'd at least research basketball a little... mind it's not something we're not used to, following Five's coverage.

He must have got the short straw! Don't think it helps that this is a normal programme rather than a special to cover the game The women with the bowls look good! All-Star Posts: 2,336 Group: Member Member #266 Joined: July 21, 2006	well a couple of nights ago BJ Armstrong was on a all sport preview show and basically mocked by Stuart Hall as playing a sport for girls and it would all be better if they ran around in netball style frilly knickers. He remained polite but I cringed in embarrassment for him. Outstanding work BBC. A commentator who doesnt know anything about the sport. An expert summariser who doesnt like it, doesnt watch it and cant explain the draft lottery properly (every team is in it). And a bunch of roaming cretins with microphones who know nothing about the sport and so have to talk nonsense with mini-celebs. Sad thing is it doesnt have to be this way. BBC local radio has some decent basketball broadcasters who have done live BBL finals, Dan R is more competent than all of these guys put together, the eurosport guys can at least provide a decent narrative of the game. But its the way it is, utterly embarrassing and I cant think of a single reason to watch the second half and about 5 to turn over. Edited by dave f, Oct 6 2009, 08:37 PM.

Why they seem happy to let the game go on while talking about football all the time is just plain frustrating. They could have left all the jokers in to do the crowd interviews, but at least get one person out there who knows something about basketball to talk to the people that are involved in the game. (They need look no further then anyone on this message board!!). Personally I could not care less if les ferdinand or some D list pop star could dunk! Talk about the game!
