This is going to be a tough one for our new recruits, but I'm really looking forward to the game. Lyndard Stewart was top scorer last night, so he's obviously back to full fitness. It'll be interesting to see how we handle him. It'll be especially interesting to see the matchup between Yanders/Sapp and Jackson/Chapman. How long before Fab comes on as guard? Will we be chanting "Hoya Saxa" by the end? |

Fab is in effect our back up pg now as well as the guy who energises the team. If yesterday is anything to go by the more minutes he plays the better (11,7,5 assists,4 blocks, 3 steals)! |

I still don't see Fab as a pg, but those are good stats. Think Reggie will have a harder time in tomorrow's game than he had last time he came up here. He's a great guard, nonetheless. Don't know much about Chapman, so it'll be interesting to see how things go. Mike Copeland is likely to be up against Lynard - that should be an interesting matchup. Should be a great game, no matter what the result. Bit of a baptism of fire for the new guys

Absolutely agree: Fab doesnt see himself as a point guard in the purest terms. But he has been playing with these guys (Smith, Bridge, Defoe, Stewart) longer than anyone and he is very capable of getting the ball into the right players hands at the right time at the right place on the court because he knows their games better than they do!(almost game management). Thats how we won the league 2 years ago when Stewart was the MVP : Ugly but effective! The reality is that Trey did most of the ballhandling last year with Reggie assisting : reggie is still only a second year pro (who got here Tuesday) who I am sure will take over more orchestrating duties as the season goes on. But at the moment you will also see fab do a lot of it and run some strange looking lineups with at times himself, bridgey, joe and reggie on the court. On paper it shouldnt work but the success of his methods are there to be seen. Big Q tomorrow for me is how good is Sapp. If he goes off against the best defensive team in the league in the first game (with all the cohesion problems that invariably presents) then you have got yourself a real player! |

Who could doubt Fab's effectiveness - still the team to beat, and a lot of that is down to the player/coach. Sapp certainly has the potential - the question is, can he do it in his first real professional game or will he take a few games to settle. We might even find him switching with Rob and playing as pg. |

In my eyes the game may hinge on depth. Will the Rocks have another player in for tomorrrow? and can Sterling continue to hold down both jobs? Problems the Eagles have adjusted to over the years. |

Its an opinion. Its what the forums here are for. heres another one. The best defensive team isnt Sheffield. (only 113 points given up tonight). Am I allowed that view? |

Couldn't comment, didn't see the game, but 113 isn't good (although on the main board someone said that we were missing both Gorman and Lawson, can't have helped!) ![]() Amusing to see you form an opinion on an entire league after seeing... 2 games? Well, to be expected I guess. Edited by retsek, Sep 26 2009, 11:29 PM.

I'm really looking forward to the game. One of the standout performances last year, and great atmosphere. I do hope the drum is brought along this evening though. |

Next time, TheFalc, next time... I'll have you know that video was done in one take. There will be a longer video - I may even show Charles scoring. Although I probably won't show him tossing the ball off the side of the court
