Statement from Jets' Director, Peter Hawkins:

Quote:

As most people will be aware Calvin injured his left ankle during last night’s game against Newcastle Eagles. Following assessment by medical staff from The Eagles and The Metro Arena an ambulance was called and Calvin was taken to Newcastle General Hospital. An initial assessment following an x ray suggests that he has damaged his lower fibula at the point the tendon is attached to it, at this stage it is unclear if this is a fracture to the bone or a result of the ligament becoming detached from the bone. His leg has been placed in plaster to below the knee.

The Jets medical staff were consulted last night and again today and Calvin is expected to see the clubs orthopaedic doctor early next week for a full diagnosis.

We would like to thank the staff from The Eagles, Metro Arena and Newcastle General Hospital for their professionalism in dealing with the incident. We expect to have a full understanding of the extend of the injury and how many weeks Cal will be out for during the course of next week, we will of course update everyone via The Jets website and members newsletter as soon as we know more.

I’m sure everyone will join me in wishing Cal a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back playing again over the coming weeks.

Thanks Peter :thumb - get well soon Cal!!!
All in all it's been a rocky road,
Twists and turns along the way,
But, I still pray for tomorrow
All my hopes, my dreams
Don't fade away...

Seeing as the last post on this was last month (OK only last week) does anyone know how/what the injury is and how long is it likely to take to get him back suited up?
