Will be attending two games this weekend

Saturday sees a new look Bradford Dragons team fraturing new signings Vance Silcott, Shaun James, Luke Malek and Jimi Pournoori host a Shefield Arrows team who don't have a great Cup record

while Sunday sees US guard Scott Morton make his EBL debut for Durham Wildcats against a much changed Huddersfield Heat who have Jason Swaine back after a year in Sheffield and Anglo-Aussie Terry Mortimer making his British debut

Any likely upsets anywhere this weekend?

Haven't heard much from Arrows and they lost to Dragons in 2007 at this stage so who knows what will happen tonight?

Sheffield Sabres and Team Birmingham withdrew from the Cup so Liverpool and Gloster move on to Round 2

London Mets 88 v 76 London Leopards in the Nat Trophy this afternoon. Wasn't at the match as was at Spurs v Burnley (5-0, could easily have been 10-1) but spoke to Sol Ayinla (also a Spurs fan) after the match. Sol said that both teams were understrength but Mets broke the game open in the 3rd q to set up the win. Sol had to suit up and rolled back the years with 20pts supported by Dave Ajumobi with16pts and Arturo Noha with 15pts. Carl Latham- Henry hit a match-high 23pts in a losing cause. I'm sure Dave R will be posting a full report on the EB and Leopards site pretty soon

Mets take on Eastside Eagles away in the Cup tomorrow afternoon. Leopards host Guildford Heat 2nds just a bit further east round the Nth Circular.

Arrows without 3 players. Waiting for International clearance for 1 player and a second still in USA. A significant big man also not able to play.
Pretty good effort especially in Second Half when you take into account all of that. Thought James Kelly's excellent play in the second half sparked the important momentum shift and gave the young Arrows side the confidence to win. Really shut down Bradfords offence in the 4th quarter with great team defence.
All Arrows players showed they will not give up on a cause this season scraping for every ball.

Dragons were also missing three players

Ellis and Kelly both shot the ball well for Arrows with Ellis finishing with 27pts

London Mets 85 v 69 Reading Rockets in the Trophy this afternoon. Dave Ajumobi hit a match high 20pts, Jeff Danchie 15pts and Arturo Noha 10pts. For Rockets, Lohfink hit 12pts supported by J Sayers, L Sayers and Robbie Parker draining 10pts each. London Mets led the entire match pushing the lead to as much as 20pts in the final q. Third q was once again decisive, Mets breaking it open 28/18. Great start to the season by Mets beating Leopards and Rockets plus downing Leeds, Essex Pirates and LSBU Brixton Topcats pre-season.

The Cup strikes again....

Leeds Carnegie and Tees Valley both lost road games to second division opponents today

Durham Wildcats led by American Scott Morton beat Leeds 77-68 whilst Mohawks lost a close game 56-53 to Team Northumbria thanks to a double-double of 16pts and 17 boards from Nils Steuber

I suppose Magic were on a hiding to nothing against Liverpool who got a bye to round 2 after the withdrawal of Sheffield Sabres in September
