Well Sunday is upon us 7:30 at the EIS not a great time , for a game, but nevertheless, a game I am looking forward to, I think we will be one player short in that Matt hasn't got his work visa sorted out yet, but other than that everyone else is here. I'm excited by our forward line , and want to see how Perry & Ryan run the team, I'm told there will be a couple of exciting Bench players too, all in all looking good , roll on Sunday

I thought the game was in the afternoon and had organised to go and take my little lad to his 1st game. Then I took a look at the invite on Facebook this morning, saw the tip-off time and decided there was no way I was going as he goes to his bed at 7.30! Shame really, as I won't make a single regular season game this year, so it was my only chance to see if Mike Cook is as good as I remember him from Pitt 2 years ago... |

Sorry about the T/O time John , It was everything UI was hoping for, dont remember the final score ( it didn't really matter ) , but The last score I remember was 86 - 62 to Sharks with about 4/5 minutes left. Sharks seem to have picked-up this amazing 6'-8" ish tall older white guy , played in a number 20 shirt, he was awesome last night, I know his half time stats were 12 / 12 from the F/T line , and one assist that sticks in the mind , was a no look behind the back pass under the bucket , for Ryan Patton to score from. I was wrong , regarding Ryan ............. I know its hard to believe but I was, I thought he would be the purely the PG, but Perry did an excellent job there, and his ball distribution, was just what was needed, Ryan, seemed to have carried on where he left off at Worthing , and as someone remarked , his high looping 3's were reminicent of Nate. Adrian Anderson, still an extremely athletic player, with loads to offer, maybe tried a bit too hard last night, but his willingness was good to see, he will be a great bench player to bring on and pep things up. MIke Cook, haven't seen the final stats, but I know he posted 27 points at least, he seemed totaly at ease, and to be honest I hadn't really noticed him posting numbers that high, I think he 's just that good that he just goes about his business with so much confidence.I must make a point of watching more closely next time. Attiba, looks a mean lean fighting machine, and really pushed his team, He obviously spent a lot of time looking at what was happening, but when he was on court, he was his was huige , standing firm on 'D' , and being the link man on Offense , when required. Taps, again I know he had posted a double double by halftime, 12 points & 10 rebounds , plus some rterific dunks & blocks, he was completely enjoying himself, even when fouled out, and sat on the bench, he still wanted to be involved, jumping up & down , and waving his towel. The big tall white guy , I think some one nicknamed him TC, or something like that, he was phenominal, , probably played 30 mins or so, and was driving to the hoop, laying off assists, standing tall under his own basket , pulling down rebounds, and 100% from the charity stripe, this guy could go far. And we still have our big guy Matt flying in on Tuesday. The Sharks are back

Thought Mike Cook looked quality is movement was different class. Also nice to see some nice ball movement by the Sharks after playing together for such a short period of time. Including Matt Gorman to the team is that going to be the full roster? |

Not too sure yet , but I think we look good as we are, with Todd playing as well as he did last night Perry Lawson Ryan Patton Attiba Lyons Mike Cook Tafari Toney Matt Gorman Todd Cauthorn Adrian Anderson Ralph Binos Ashley Chandley Jermain Gonsalves baring long term injuries, I think we can more than compete with that line-up |

I thought TC would only play in case of emergencies. Is he now back playing full time aswell as coaching? Are there are other new signings planned? I know you said they were looking at another one a few weeks ago. Are Anderson and Binos actually part of the roster this year as Anderson works full time I know? Were they not just playing yesterday? |

Impressed with the contribution all the new (and a few old!) players made last night - Patton and Toney shone for me as bringing something new to Sharks and Cook quietly poured in the points. Liked the new offensive sets which were executed well for pre-season and we have a legitimate 3 point threat. A bit of work to be done on team defense but that will come. And a substantial crowd for a pre-season. |
