Who will be this season's starters? Sherrad Prezzie-Blue at PG is clear, but then it gets tricky. It seems that there are 3 or 4 who can play Power Forward, plenty of cover at Centre but maybe no one who is a dedicated Centre. Small Forward position also in the mix. Anyway, from a position of complete ignorance here is my guess at the line up? It tricky as we have 6 potential starters. I put Makalainen on the bench as I had already started to think about this before he joined, and it was too much of a headache to make room for him (its a good job i'm not a coach). Flea's starting line up PG Sherrad Prezzie-Blue SG Reggie Bratton SF Petroslav Zafirov PF Janis Ivanovskis C Kadiri Richard Bench SF Ville Makalainen PG Daniel Hildreth SG James Brame (c) SG Dan Midgley SG C? Sam Cricelli |

I find it hard to imagine Janis coming off the bench! I love our front court, we are going to eat up every rebound going this season! |

Have to say I concur with Sam - I can't imagine Janis coming off the bench. And it's very apparent that rebounding will be a big strength of the Worthing team this season. It will be interesting how good Thunder become in terms of overall defence, because that was certainly what made Reading stand apart from the rest of EBL D1 last season and I think Coach Titmus was a big part of that too. |

The trouble is it is also hard to imagine Petroslav Zafirov, Kadiri Richard or our new Finnish international Ville Makalainen coming off the bench...Its a great problem to have mind. Lets not forget Sam Cricelli. it was suggested in one article that he could be pushing for a starting position as the season goes on? Front what i have read they all seem like a pretty versatile bunch too though, so plenty of room to play around the positions. I think there will have to a lot of good rotation management to keep 'em all happy. If the coach can achieve that then we could have one of the best front courts in the league! |

Sounds like Cricelli could be the new Pat Bates given a bit of time to develop in this league. I guess the big men will just have to compete for the starting positions and hopefully whichever one comes off the bench will not mind or grumble about it for the good of the team. Also it might depend on who we play - Titmus might switch lineups depending on where the other team's main strengths lie. |

Haven't properly looked through the strengths and the height of certain players, but let me tell you that Ville should be starting! Guy is a Finnish international, and Finland are a side who are in Division A and just missed out on EuroBasket. Starting 5 Prezzie-Blue Bratton Makalainen Zafirov Richard Janis and the rest coming off the bench. |

Janis off the bench...maybe, but wasnt he the leagues 6th highest scorer last season? And a top rebounder too. Hard to see someone that high up the league stats board starting on the pine! Is this Ville fella capable of plauying the 2 guard? if so maybe Reggie comes off the bench? |
