I was only just thinking the same thing earlier today...

Thier website is down - and has been for a while. They have no announcemnts via the BBL website and no fans posting in here. No looking good for the the capital city's participation in the coming season. I hope i am wrong and thier will be a splash soon, but its only a few weeks now till the season tips off..

From various rumours they tried to sign American ex Leopard Calvin Fowler but he signed in asia. I think Gariba is returning along with some of there young players, obv this is nothing confirmed

Rumour has it that a couple of Lithuanians may be making their way to Capital. Of course that doesn't mean they'll still be around by the end of October!!

Prediction:

There will be about 50 on the roster
However only 7/8 will turn up for away matches
They will arrive late, as they like to go the scenic route
There will be more away supporters than home at the Capital Academy

Please prove me wrong!

Here's a vague thing...

on the Heat website, they were advertising the CIA competition down at the Palace this weekend. As well as some of the Heat players (Joseph, Martin etc.) the following name was also listed:

ISHMAEL FONTAINE (SG, 6'2", London Capital)

I offer this as a morsel...
GO HEAT

We play TEAM ball.

I reserve the right to ignore you in a grown-up, though slightly aloof way if you are rude to me.

surely GM's, coaches of other teams will have an idea as they may be targeting the same players. i think they will have a roster just no way of anyone knowing about it

They have a preseason game 2morrow, maybe a roster will be seen there. also against a USA select team they could be targetting and pik up players from there

You may have a point about them standing out, but as no-one from Caps reads this anyway we have an element of surprise......we might just get away with it. Go for Pat and report back!

Well- this evening truly brought me back down to earth!!! After 3 days of watching basketball in Poland and experiencing Slovenian fans making a noise and atmosphere that is actually impossible to describe successfully, I walked into Capital's court. I suppose the one plus point was I didn't pay, but a venue that can't actually provide one remotely clean working toilet, shouldn't be charging anyway.

As for Capital themselves, they had some new guys and some returning players, some I recognised, some I didn't, but without even a single photocopied sheet with any info, it's difficult to give much info.
Jivens is still player/coach and played quite a few minutes(why in a friendly I don't know!). Gariba has returned and did enough to make me wish that Vince would have signed him. Marc Pratt, Santa Ataha, Darren Mills, Ryan Cadogan and I think Marlon Capers all played.
Other fans were there who may be able to add more names or correct these ones.

Team select USA did not shine in the time I saw either of the games. Apparently the a team played against Capitals and the b team played against Leopards. The b team were smaller than the a team, but looked quicker and more athletic.

The experience has really got me excited about the season ahead!!!

Pat, based on what you saw, do you think Capital are likely to be better than last year or are they going to anchor the league table again do you think?
