Thunder unveiled another impressive "big man" to the Worthing Public on Monday. A giant new front man made his public appearance before 10,000 plus on-lookers at Worthing's annual Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday. "I am confident this player will be a superb addition to our organisation and will make a huge impact on court" an unoffical spokesman for the club said as the player was paraded along Worthing Seafront. Unfortunaltely an official spokesman was less enthusiastic - "... his height is certainly going to be an advantage but he looks little immobile and I am sure we will have trouble getting him in an out of the dressing room. I think the BBL might have something to say about the three people required to operate him but who knows - we might get away with it" The 9 foot giant certainly made an impact with the hundreds of children watching the parade and helped Thunder publicise the start of the new season. (Thanks to everybody at the supporters club who helped out at the Carnival, created the monster player and made and our float such a success. Frank Gainsbury) |

Hi Frank, I think you'll find he wasn't 9ft, in fact his agents planted a bunch of dwarfs to make him look taller. Sorry, I got confused with another thread. Well done to everyone whoc supported the event, unfortunately I was out of town. |

One person who witnessed the unveiling of the new "big man" and wished to remain anonymous said that the new guy resembled Thunders captain James Brame!!! Also he was nearer 15 feet tall was another remark as the sixth pint slipped down his throat!!
