Should be good to have a game at the ECHo a bit earlier in the season this year - hopefully we can finally break our duck with it!

A bit surprised at the ticket prices. I've been across to the Arena to see Tigers lose (sorry, couldn't resist that dig) when they have played Jets and also Eagles and the large crowds have been great but I dont remember they were £10 a ticket. Cheaper prices should mean a family visit won't cost so much but they must know what they are doing.

As it's coming up, I'm bumping the thread. A little more info on our new signings in here:

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/other-sports/2009/10/07/new-look-everton-tigers-keen-to-make-bbl-impact-100252-24869903/

Had a little look at Gumbs on YouTube - looks like a guy who goes about his business on court with a minimum of fuss - I hope he can do a similar job for us to the one that Marcus did last year.

The squad is looking really good now - add Rush and Gumbs to what I saw at Leicester along with one more player and we should be in for a good season.

Flo is gonna light it up big time. Gumbs and Thommo both look like they have that Marcus quality of taking care of business and doing whatever the team needs.

Arena game and I cannot wait.

Mayor

are you going to be tweeting the game for those of us lazy Heat fans who can't make it to Merseyside?

GO HEAT

We play TEAM ball.

I reserve the right to ignore you in a grown-up, though slightly aloof way if you are rude to me.

I am surprised that no one has posted on here about yesterday's game! Good win for you guys. Long journey home for us Guildford fans! I have just replied to a comment posted by someone (not sure which team they follow) on the Guildford thread regarding away supporters seating and as my response was with regards to our seats yesterday i thought i should also post it on here.

"Yesterday we were given seats which were at least 10 seats past the end of the court where no one else was sitting and we had every right to complain especially as there were SO many spare seats at the game yesterday within the central section.

Guildford heat has a dedicated area for away fans which have good seats behind their team bench and the seats are within the court area - not past the basket.

On a more constructive note, I suggest someone at Everton allocates a few rows for away supporters in a particluar section. It shouldn't be too hard to set up on the Echo Area seating system. Away fans who travel for many hours and add to the games atmosphere should be able to enjoy the game like home fans - not penalised because they are opponents."

Hi Amy

for some strange reason we all ended up posting in the BBL forum!!!

Agree with your comments about both away fans at the Arena and also about the layout at Guildford - I visited their last year and it is exactly where I would wish to be sitting.

The Arena games are still a work in progress and involve the Arena and Tigers. By the same token I would like to have all season ticket holders and Greenbank regulars sat together behind the Tigers bench (assuming they want to) as they always attract loads of newbies and the regulars are scattered about meaning it is hard to build an atmosphere in the way I personally would like.

The club are up for this and I am sure they will take on board the needs of away fans. We have new folk at the helm and the main sales were handled by the Arena throughout this time of change.

We will get it right and last night was a good leap forward - full price admission for our fourth arena game. Previous ones have been heavily discounted. Spoke with a few newbies last night and today and all seem hooked thanks to a well contested tight game.

Amy,

Same thing happened to us Eagles fans at our last game at the Echo Arena. I was in the seat next to the black curtain. Trust me it was not a great view and spoily my enjoyment of the game. Bit of a shame really because there was plenty of seats available that day with a much better view.

Still, like the Mayor says, hopefully they are working on improving this??

2 years ago at the very first Echo Arena game the Jets had a huge push and took hundreds of fans across. We had a reasonable slot taking up the whole 3 vertical sections THEN they moved the court across the Arena by about 20 yards meaning we were not level with the court.

To be fair though we were told it was because the Sentanta cameras needed the court in a different place. not the Tigers fault.

But as it does seem to a be a recurring problem some forethought as to visiting fan seats needs to be done, it will save the Tigers a lot of hard work sorting out their problems 30 mins before tip -off (again to be fair which they do try very hard to do)

the simple solution would be to make the whole arena unreserved

I had tickets for courtside which was too low down for me and my children so I just moved to an area which was obviously not taken which was 10 rows behind where the officials were sat - its not rocket science

Try doing that with 300 fans who want to sit together and see how easy it is.
