Google is blocking the site for me, I can by-pass it, but given the nature of the attack(s) reported I think I'll wait to visit it until the issues are resolved. There's two tediously boring ways of solving this problem, 1) create new files for every page and upload them, 2) check the code for every page to find the ones which have been attacked and to delete and re-create these pages. I've just done a test in Internet Explorer and my virus scanner picked up a virus attack when using Internet Explorer just now. My advice to anyone using Internet Explorer don't visit the site until someone on here gives clearance (Firefox is using google's blocking system, where IE doesn't!). OR download Firefox and be protected! |

Looks like the same thing has happened again anyone not getting a warning from either google or their anti virus should run a system scan as you probably will have some malware on your computer if you have visited the infected pages. My advice to anyone not getting a warning message is scan your computer (install ad-adware is free to download and is one of the best anti-malware programs Ad-adware download here Note: this program should be used as an additional protection to your anti-virus unless you buy the pro version) and avoid using pawprint until someone here gives the all clear. Also installing a safer browser such as Firefox will protect you better against these sorts of threats. It's probably the same attacker who has done this, is probably searching for vulnerable sites to attack on the server that Pete is using. Is probably not a good idea to announce your going on holiday or taking a few weeks off as the attacker struck only days after that announcement, it might well be a coincidence but it does look like a deliberate attack on the site. First thing I'd do is change the password by using a more secure password, having studied at extensive length network security as part of my degree having a weak password would take a hacker a matter of milliseconds to crack. Examples of weak passwords include any dictionary word, dates etc. A stronger password would be on of alpha-numeric (pa55w0rd or 64204ge3ohe as examples). An even strong password would be alpha-numeric and include capitals and of a length larger than 16 characters, that will make your account what is known as probably secure, which means it will take the attacker more time than the data is worth, so not worth hacking. |

Also you could add in special characters such as !£$&@ etc as these make it even harder to brute force your passwords Tilly |

I still have my doubts about how safe Pawprint is after visiting it earlier tonight about 10.30 and getting a virus threat alert from AVG This despite Pete saying he thought it was clear when I spoke to him on Sunday at Durham |

Has something happened to it again? Just tried to go there and it didn't load, then suddenly my anti-virus software springs to life warning me of a severe trojan trying to get through!
