He doesn't seem to be in a hurry to update his web site to that effect :dunno

Presumably it's partly to do with his domestic circumstances?

I'm Suprised to hear this but after Reading his website's guestbook Today, I gather it's to
stay fit for when he leaves for a club.

Steve has been speaking to the media about playing for the Mohawks while he weighs up big European offers:

Leven focusing on Europe contract
7th November, 2009

Steve Leven is ensuring that he will be fit and ready upon another call up from Europe by suiting up for local club Teeside Mohawks. After a strong campaign in Europe, particularly in Britain -where he led his Newcastle team to a season championship - Leven is ensuring he'll be focused and alert on court. A playing contract in Spain had fallen through which has left Leven time to consider broad options and to keep his game in fine tuning.

When asked about the latest Steve replied "It's a chance to work out and stay in shape; there is nothing better then playing and it's a good chance to do that as it's still game condition."
