It's a while away, but it seems to me that we are going to be sorting out our own travel and ticket arrangments. I really hope this is not going to be the case and we hear something soon.

It would be great if the whole British Basketball community travelled and support the lads in Poland, and really make an effort. To show that British basketball exists and is doing well. Flags, banners, drums, horns anything to make Team GB's fans heard.

Travel and dates are all in the other Eurobasketball thread which is pinned, and this thread will be pinned also.

Possible meet and greet in Warsaw as well?

So I'll get the ball rolling, I have to book the holiday in the new year, but count me in!! I'm there...

I really hope to be there for at least the first round games. The fact there is 3 games in 3 days really helps the arrangements. IT would be good to see GB basketball arrange something but I have severe doubts that they can run any of the administrative side of basketball well. I'm not holding my breath.

i'll be there booked my accomodation already (seen pinned thread). Definately be donning some GB merchandise & paraphanlia (this spelt right?).

The big issue needs to be buying tickets. An idea i had was for, example if people let me know what games they want to go to i could get people to send the money by paypal then i could book group tickets. It would be ashame if we were dotted all around the arena. However depending on the demand from yourselves a couple of people might be needed, ie, we could be restricted to how many tickets we can buy in one go.

The very least that GB basketball needs to do is set up a way for GB fans to buy tickets within the same area of the arena. If the BBL can arrange this for finals events, then GB basketball must be able to arrange this with the venue and Uleb.

I didn't realise the schedule was 3 games in 3 days, as that is the case I think I definitely will make all 3 games. Gonna book a cheap Hotel/Hostel well in advance, then a flight as soon as the cheap operators start offering them - from East Midlands/Robin Hood/Leeds-Bradford etc.

Road trip!!

For those of us who can be a bit more flexible with our time...we could drive it in 4 days...stay til we're out of the competition then drive home.

It'd be good to get a couple of cars going. We have plently of time to organise it.

Did someone say mass e-mail to get BPB to get GB fans to get block seats?

Just sent an email as I fully intend to be there for at least the group games and agree with everyone that blocks of seating is the way to go - it will also be my 35th Birthday whilst there so yet another excuse for a Whatsbev pub crawl.

Not got travel or accommodation sorted yet but may be joining inaminute23 taking a punt on WhizzAir still being around - the big danger for all Polish routes is the reducing population of migrant workers - given the economy at the moment their numbers are falling sharply which will undoubtedly put pressure on the commercial viability of some routes - but £60 booked on a credit card is not much of a punt - as it is insured :geek

Warsaw or bust :laugh

I'll be there probably with my brother and maybe a couple of mates who I dragged along to the O2 game and said they'd be up for going to Poland even though they're not really interesed in basketball.

I'll definately do the games in Warsaw.

Bounced the idea of Poland in September off Dad, got a cautious thumbs up(probably cheaper than our last adventure - the 2008 Bahrain Grand Prix). Any ideas how much the game tickets are?

Very, very tempted now. Warsaw looks like a pretty interesting place to visit, which is the icing on the cake. Not many flights left at cheap prices though, already.
