If so, please read on… Derby Trailblazers will be holding open trials at Noel Baker School on Saturday 28th June, from 3 until 6pm. The aim is to recruit as many players as possible into next years’ junior programme, based on ability and potential. Most of the club’s teams play at the highest level in England Basketball’s National league structure. A number of junior players have already come through this system to join the senior Men’s teams at division 1 or division 3 levels. Some of these young players are also representing their country at age-group level. The junior programme utilises a number of well known local basketball personalities, including Tim Lascelles. Tim played basketball professionally in Derby for fifteen years before retiring in 2000. Since this time, he has coached basketball in Derbyshire at local, regional and is currently also involved with the England U18’s team. The open trials will give boys and girls between the ages of 10 through to 16 the opportunity to play and to develop basketball skills in the environment of a fantastic family orientated club. All participants will be expected to play outside of school time and will receive excellent coaching. Trials will take place on Saturday 28th June 2008, from 3pm until 6pm at Noel Baker School, Bracknell Drive, Alvaston, Derby.
