See the above for the mens championships. Most of the matches will be played this afternoon or evening. Looking at the draw I wouldn't expect many upsets...

Leeds Met versus Worcester in the semi looks like being a good game.

Can the public get in to these games or is it just for the Universities..
How much is it for the day.......

If its at the EISS as in past years then its free and open to the public with games all day on 2 courts - well worth a visit.

Worcester are strong but can Leeds Met surprise them?

Good luck to Bradford University Mens Team who've made the BUSA Shield Final against University of Essex on the 15th March at EIS.

I think the winner will come from London Met, London South Bank or Leeds Met...Think it is a lot more open than previous years

I gather Worcester are playing virtually their full BBL team at EIS

Should be interesting, that's for sure

That'll be entertaining - Wolves don't have a BBL game for three weeks after todays game at Heat.

I tend to agree. It's a shame that the way results panned out in the South mean that London Met and Leeds Met meet in R1. The winners of this match will make the Final. Despite the final placings in the South , I reckon London Met are actually the strongest team from that Div. I understand that London Met lost to LSBU away by around 20pts after the LSBU coaches pulled a stunt over providing official player ID that prevented London Met from playing their strongest line up, even though the teams and officials concerned knew that the player(s) were legit. Shame really as for a competition of supposed repute, most matches are played without qualified table officials etc. Over the years, BUSA have taken some bizarre decisions when teams have protested.Rules get applied by BUSA as and when it suits teams and staff at BUSA HQ. London Met beat LSBU comfortable in the return but were unable to over turn the points gap to take the head-to-head. Then London Met blew it with a 1pt loss to Brunel away in the last round of the regular season to end up having to play Leeds Met first this weekend. That Brunel result turned the play-off line-up on its head.

Of course, if Worcester Uni really are willing and able to put out the Wolves BBL team, they have to be massive favourites. With that in mind, I reckon it will be a London Met/Leeds Met v Worcester Final (if the draw allows). Are the Worcester Wolves players officially all students and qualified to play in BUSA this year? From past experience, I don't have any faith in the BUSA organisers to do anything about it if they (or any other players) aren't legit.

I am going to EISS Friday and Saturday to support the young Birmingham team. Even though they are coming in on a run of 5 wins in EBL 2 I don't see them beating a BBL team if that's what it will be. Couple of other points re posts above - Leeds/London Met and Worcester can't meet in the Final because of the draw which means they would meet in the semi Finals. And the EISS website says there is a £5.00 entrance fee but not sure if that's per day or for the whole thing. It should be a great weekend of Basketball.

Hi
The entrance fee might be because there are 20 sports in total playing their finals in Sheffield at the weekend.

London South Bank came good, beating Worcester in the final by around 7 I think. The London guys, who had played hard throughout the BUSA season in the tough premier south, really wanted it - Worcester's BBL players didn't seem as up for it - they went with Life, Harker, Evans and Anderson for most of the game and the refs didn't give them much protection either.
'Cherry' rolled back the years and gave a real old skool MVP performance...

South Bank won 90-84 according to the BUSA site

Congrats to Cherry and co on a win I have to say I wasn't expecting after watching their quarter final game against Northumbria on Friday night

Congrats also to UWIC Archers who edged out Team Northumbria 80-79 in the womens final
Feel the (Huddersfield)Heat !
