This has similarities to the situation we had in the 90s with Michael Olowokandi who is now capped by Nigeria after being denied a British passport under this law

however, with BPB alerted to a ruling that any player born outside the UK after 1983 would be eligible for citizenship, and a place on the national team, if they have one British parent.

Does anyone know of any other promising players other than Nikki Luckhurst who would be eligible for GB under this ruling?

BPB need to pursue this as far as possible. From what i have read this seems to be the case. Can anyone tell me if either one of his parents is a passport holder?

Good news (touch wood) on the Ben Gordan front though! Crossing my fingers, rubbing a rabbits foot, etc, but can you imagine this for a starting 5

Deng
Gordan
Azubuike
Betts/Archibald
Mensa Bonsu
(average age of about 25)

Wow! Please make my dream come true. These next few weeks or months are going to be very interesting & hopefully all the pieces to the jigsaw were trying to finish will be given to us. If this is to be the case, then the rest of europe better be warned because that starting 5 have the potential to tear the best in europe apart!

Ben Gordon was born here so this rule does not apply to him

Also he has expressed zero interest in representing GB in the past because he thinks the USA might give him a call, a thought process I personally don't think will change before Istanbul 2010, the next Mundobasket

But so was Azubuike. That was why we thought he might be eligible to play for GB in the first place. And Gordon was actually born 8 months before Azubuike as well.
