I personally would like a central venue. Coventry Sky Dome, i thought was a good venue in the early part of the decade, in which i saw some good international matches. With a capacity of 4000 it would be ideal, & realistic to fill for every game played. GB need some where they can call home, try and make a fortress, and can get used to lighting, baskets, floor etc. It's not a bad place to get to, and obviousley it's central in the country. |

With Glenn here. Be great to have a few games in the south (Crawley, Guildford, Milton Keynes new arena). Few in Coventry/Birmingham and a few up North, Newcastle, Braehead etc.. |

Well we've got three guaranteed home games in the qualifiers. I really think that after speaking to the O2 head honcho there is a strong chance that a a GB qualifier could be played there next summer - if its available for one of the home dates. Even without using the top tier that would special. Thought NIA was great last year and if BPB are smart thay can promote the GB game at the BBL Finals - in fact why not work with the BBL and put a ticket deal in place so if you buy a ticket for the BBL Finals you get the option of a cheaper ticket for the GB game - a win-win for the BPB and the BBL. Finally I'd like to see a qualifier at either the Metro Arena or Braehead again get it announced early and you have plenty of time to promote at either Eagles or Rocks games. So O2, NIA and either Metro Centre or Braehead for the three qualifiers for me |

Duno wot its like for other ppl, but London would be the best and cheapest option for me because i can buy cheap megatrain tickets in advance. I think u can gt cheap tickets from anywhere around the country to London with megatrain. |

The Slovakia game at Brum was fantastic last year and I think BPB would be silly not to go there again. I, like Swiss and Stephen, like the idea of having the games in 3 separate North (Braehead, Metro), Midlands (NIA/NEC) and South (O2) locations to give everyone a chance to see the games. |

I'll travel wherever to see the games. I have a 90 min drive to the nearest suggestion (Brum) and would like to see Breahead and visit the o2 again so it doesn't really matter for me personally. Money wise, it may be best for the games to have different venues to generate as much ££££s as possible |

Would have said Liverpool at 10,000 and MEN are probably too big The ABC could host the Women again- but with a max of less than 2000 is it big enough for the Men? |

The Hallam FM Arena holds 11,000 and the NIA about the same, so wouldn't you say they were too big Glenn? They can always fence off the ends like they did for the game against Slovakia last year.

o2 holds 20,000 so that would be out of the question for now, unless it fences off the sides. Wouldn't say the venues I listed will be GB venues, just listing if they would be good enough and what peoples views on them would be - discussion point. If there are anymore, just post them on. |

As soon as the fixtures are announced, wherever they are playing the BPB need to get together with the BBL & promote these games properly. One example is for the bbl teams to sell tickets, or at least advertise them at every game thrrough the pa & match programme. Not rocket science is it? Watch this space anyway... |

If they had a free date O2 told me that they would be happy not use the top tier - they did this for Boxing and like the NIA price at a rate that ensured as many tickets were sold as possible. They strongly feel that there is a big pay-off for them to be actively seen to be supporting the GB team esp as they are hosting basketball in 2012 |

I'm not sure a permenant central venue is needed. Even England football don't play all their games at Wembley (do they?) and that's purpose built. I do think that the O2 has the best chance of attracting bigger numbers. The population of London is over 7 million. (Maybe someone can help me out - does this include tourists??) Plus millions on the outskirts. There would be people that go just because it's the O2, us lot who would probably go anywhere and a load of people in London that would actually watch basketball if it was available to them. It might not be full, but then neither is the NIA. I'd rather 8,000 in the O2 than 2,000 at the NIA. It obviously depends on how much it costs and whether they'll take the risk. |

England do play their games at Wembley now that the stadia has been built. I would love to see Team GB play at o2, and I agree that 8,000 is better than 2,000 but the difference between Football and Basketball is that with Football, you don't need to promote it too much as the money is there, the promoton is on the telly and your certain to have 70,000 plus for a game at Wembley. With Basketball, it's a minor sport here in this country and it needs all the attention and promotion it can get and spreading it over the country is a good start to get people from all over interested or re-interested. In time, people from all over could go to o2 or NIA and fill it with 10,000 or maybe more - isn't that the dream. |

Yeah i'd love to see a game a the O2 Arena, but advertising is the key. If you play there then we need to be looking for at least a 10k gate. Like i've said in previous posts the BPB should be targeting the city that his hosting it's game to advertise. This can be done through local clubs, tv, radio & internet. Will this happen? I doubt it & it hurts me to say that, but untill these people listen to the fans views (whatsbev forum) then the gates will be average & the advertisment worse! One other quick thought. On average how many passionate followers of every team are there in the league(s) EBL included? Of these how many follow GB? What im trying to get at is i don't think enough support is coming from fans of BBL clubs. I know some people just support there local club (as i do with football), but surely these are the fans we need. They all know the sport is way down in the pecking order of mainstream sports. So why don't they get behind GB? Would you rather watch BBL, or Deng, Azubuike, Betts, Pops etc go toe to toe with the best in europe? No contest is it? Now im not having a dig at anyone i just want more people to support GB, because i guarantee when 2012 comes along there will be people clammering for tickets who have probably nots seen a GB game before, and like in other sports where people get on the band wagon, it pi**es me off! |

The problem arises where these people get seeing Deng and co lift the Olympic gold at the expense of the fans who were there watching gunk like Albania. Given the size of the UK, there is simply no excuse for not being able to find 15,000 people willing to pay 20quid to watch top level basketball. |

The only team I can remember it happening was for the NBA game at the Dome Hopefully there'll be big crowds for the Div A games but I'm not sure 15,000 is realistic at this stage |
