Looking at th Boxscores for Cleveland-Indiana LeBron is heading for another triple double. The fourth of the season I believe.

Now averaging 31.4 points per game
8.1 rebounds per contest
8 assists per game aswell

Can he keep these numbers up, especially with the injury depleted Cavs? Now playing low post and wing. Putting up career highs in several categories.

And some writers are putting down his nae as the best in the league.....obviously the Laker fans go nuts and explain why they love Kobe Bryant a million times but is he better than Duncan?

He's insane. That's what he is.

He needs some help, though.

Thre's the arguement of Melo vs Wade vs LeBron on nba.com

I think LeBron destroyed any chance of the other three getting close a fair few games ago.

Will he average a triple double though? I think he could. With a few good players with him I think he could get there, an extra 2 assists and 2 rebounds agme and it's possible. Is that a lot to ask from a guy who has atleast another 14 years in the league?

And the fourth one is

30 points
11 rebounds
10 assists
4 steals

But a poor FT and 3P% at the same time. 9-15 FT and 1-6 3P

But if he had better guys with him his numbers would dip as they would pick up the slack. Likewise his shooting may improve as he'd only be taking decent shots and not having to force stuff because no one else can play. I don't think he will average a triple double, but he could be MVP within a couple of seasons if the Cavs can get to 55 wins. Record does play a part in the decision 9 times out of 10 so that is worth mentioning.

Better than Duncan? I think so, although maybe not better than Duncan was at his very best a few years ago...

Yeah, I don't think LeBron will ever average a triple-double. His numbers have increased largely because he has even less help than he did before, so he's having to do everything. If he got a better backup or more teammates that could carry the load, he'd play fewer minutes; if they acquired a half-decent point-guard (Andre Miller and Mike Bibby probably the most likely right now), his assist numbers would go down because the team would have another distributer. He's already an obvious MVP candidate, but I can't see him joining Oscar in that particular area of the record books.

I think LBJ is the best player in the NBA and he will give us all a lot of fun over the coming years.

Problem is, unless the Cavs do some nifty trade work, I can't see him winning a ring anytime soon.

Thats it for him though, he seems the kinda guy who wants rings. Im sure he'd take a 15/5/5 in exchange for some help and a shot at a ring. No question hes the best around right now.

IMO Melo @ Bron r way better than Wade. Brons the best overall player but Melo is the best shooter out of them all. If Bron gets a gd shot he has a chance to become the GOAT.

The thing is, LeBron signed a 6 year extension about a year or so ago, as at that time it looked like the Cavs were going in the right direction, and to be fair they did make the finals which is no small thing. But it was clear to all they'd have been out in round 1, 2 at best in the west. Now he is stuck there and has to hope they can upgrade the roster.

I thought he only signed a 3 year contract with a player option for a 4th year. So he could be a free agent after the 2009/10 season.

Sam doesn't get things like that wrong.

I think Melo is clearly the best of the 3, the other 2 are yet to show any ability tp wear cornrows. All the greats have had cornrows; Iverson, Ricky Davis, Darius Miles. The list goes on...

You should listen to Master B, he knows a thing or two about cool haircuts. Enough to tell you that Darius Miles is a future hall of famer anyway.

Thats good news for LeBron that he didn't sign the longer contract, I thought he did, most of the top players do as it's the max deal over the longest number of years. That puts the pressure on Ferry to start doing something then, but with the pieces he has, his hands are tied somewhat.

LeBron, Wade and Chris Bosh all signed 4-year extensions with the fourth year being a player-option (all starting this season, so they could opt out after two more seasons post-this season). Melo was the only one out of that group that signed the longer extension.
