This is not the nicest task I've had to perform for the Heat, but I have been informed by the club that Brian Dux has been involved in a serious car accident in the early hours of this morning. Test results so far look positive, but he remains under sedation in intensive care. We will do our best to keep you updated here or on the Heat site as information becomes available.

If you would like to write a message of support or good wishes to Brian please do so here, and they will be printed off and taken to him.

If you would like to send a message but don't want to post it publicly, I have set up an email address you can send them to at brian.dux@guildfordheat.com , and these again will be printed out and passed to Brian. Thanks in advance for you kind words for Brian.

I will start this post off by wishing Brian a speedy recovery, and my thoughts are with him as he looks likely to miss one of the biggest games in has career so far!! My thoughts also go to his family.

Get back soon B, the Heat, the fans, and the league need you!!

Please note this post and the email address has been set up for best wishes messages, and not speculation on Brian or the Heat or anything else. That is not appropriate at this time. I'm sure you all understand.

Thank you, MarkE

UPDATES:
11th November - Brian is still in the Intensive Care Unit, but is in a stable Condition.

12th November - Brian has had further test which give reason for optimism, and it has been suggested he may regain consciousness in the next 24-48 hours.

13th November - No further changes, and Brian remains in stable condition.

14th November - Linda Dux and the Dux family send their thanks and appreciation for all the cards, good wishes, and flowers that have been received for Brian. It is good to know so many people are thinking of him. We are waiting for Brian to regain consciousness and will provide a further update soon.

16th November - The club have released a statement in partnership with the Dux family giving an update on Brian. Basically the injuries are far worse than originally thought, and they are considering the possibility of permanent disability. A sombre update but Brian is a fighter, and he needs your support and positive thoughts more than ever now folks

23rd November - Updates page created on the Heat website, with a link on the homepage. Brian is showing signs of consciousness, which the Dux family are very encouraged by and they would like to thank people for all their good wishes and prayers.

24th November - Brian's responsiveness is improving, and PJ has taken his Heat shirt and a basketball into hospital for him.
