Well done Birmingham on getting through to the final four. Rumour has it that you have played a friendly against Manchester Magic this season and won - is this correct? |

Yes that is the case, but it was early on in pre-season and i'm sure both teams will have changed a lot since then. Tough game against Sheffield before CoB get a chance to play Manchester. CoB Under 14s are certainly not frightened of playing anyone...... |

I dont know much about Sheffield and kind of thought CoB would walk over them. I think Manchester will win against Westminster so the final would be nail biting stuff if they do come up against CoB. Any thoughts anyone? |

Sheffield demolished Ilkeston by 100 points then won away at Spelthorne which was the only away win in the quarter finals so they're definitely no mugs |

COB certainly won't under estimate anyone, especially Sheffield. Sheffield have a great reputation and an outstanding programme and we are aware of the excellent results they have achieved during the season. However, the COB coaching staff have confidence in our squad and belief in the abilities of our players just as i am sure sheffield and its coaching staff have too. As for Manchester, we are aware of their style and believe we have the players and style of play to cause them problems. We did play Manchester twice pre season and won both games but pre season is exactly that - pre season, and we know both teams will have developed since then. Our first priority and all of our focus is on Sheffield as we have full respect for them and we know we have to perform well to beat them. |

Thanks for your kind comments max. You are right the 4 hour wait did not help our guys especially following a close fought victory over sheffield ( a team that beat us by over 50 on 3 occasions last season !) which was draining emotionally and physically. our lethargy against manchester showed - we never got a start and they looked alot fresher mentally than us. hats off to them though - they put up an excellent display and thoroughly deserved the victory. i was proud of my guys for hanging on in there and showing some character at a time when it would have been easy to stop playing completely. the city of birmingham club are working so passionately and hard to ensure the city are back in with the best of english basketball year on year. anyone wishing to get involved please feel free to contact us through this site or e mail at cobbasketball@hotmail.co.uk |

i play for Leicester Blaze. U r a very good athletic team that has beat us every time. We had a close encounter last season losing by 3 points. We would like some friendlies with your team as we wont be playing them next season - we r moving to U16s. |

The club were delighted to see the standard of trialists at these age group last weekend. 62 boys attended these trials and will continue to try and impress the club coaches over the next few weeks in an attempt to make the squads for the 2007/8 season. The coaches were delighted with some of the new talent which gives us plenty of optimism at these age groups for next season. Thanks to all of the coaches for their hard work on trials day which saw almost 160 players try out. Add to this the 120 players from the previous weeks under 18 and girls trials, and it gives us plenty to be excited with almost 300 players chasing a place in the club ! |
