Just wondering what the future holds for the Trailblazers. Will you try and push the club towards the BBL and replace the void vacated when the Storm went or are you happy at the level you are at now?

Certainly happy with what we achieved last season....finishing 4th in our first season in EBL 2 was a credible achievement....and we managed to beat Mansfield in 3 out 4 games and eventually managed to get the better of West Herts too.

The club will certainly looking to reach division one and once there, to be competitive and eventually challenge for the title. However, we're being realistic in as much as we think it probably take four or five years to achieve this.

As for the BBL, I'm not sure - I think it depends on what happens to it. The Trailblazers have a desire to be community based team with local players that our fans can identify with. We're in the process of establishing an academy to support this. I'm not really sure that playing in the BBL would tie in with this ethos, but you never know!

Talking of overtime, I'll never forget the double OT game at the THunderdome where Leopards won with four men. Dave Attewell missed both free-throws at the end of OT1, then fouled out in the second OT, but we still won. The man on the mike said "i don't know what to say about that" as the final buzzer went. Meanwhile, me and my mate were on the court going :crazy.

Hope we get to come back to play in Derby some day, perhaps we'll invite mad Bob over to liven it up :shhh

Well I don't remember it but if Dave was at Leopards then it was probably the time I was away at Uni so sorry, I aint your person! I'm sure my bro would've talked it through with you though!!!

Thanks for telling me though cos I might just have to mention it to Dave at training on Sat!!! Don't sound like his best game ever!!!

don't be mean to Mr Attewell, I suspect he's bigger than you !

Dave...I WAS the man on the mike. And I still don't know what to say about it. I can understand why it's in your top three of game memories, but for us Derby fans, it was probably one we'd like to forget.

Talking of Bob, I tried to check what he was up to whilst I was in the States last year, and didn't manage to find any trace of him. Are you still in touch with him? Would love to get in touch with him again!

I'm trying to remember for sure but I think it was one of the first games after Billy Mims was sacked as leopard's coach and Bob wasn't registered yet but still seemed to be involved pretty actively in the coaching that day - am I thinking of the right game?

Let's talk about Storm losses! ;)

Double overtime loss at Bracknell in the trophy when Tony Christie's shot (after the buzzer! ;) ) went in. :thumb

Bob never really kept in touch with anyone after he left. I got one message via Annie-T, but that was it. Bit disappointing as I was one of the few people who really got on with him, and I was a fan of the old Hornets, so would have loved to visit him. It was if he thought "that part of my life is over" - didn't stop him interfering with the team the next year :headshake

DTB - your quote will remain with me forever. I'll just try not to mention it too often.

Derbyman - the game you're refering to was the year before the 4-man game. it was a trophy game, we'd been stuffed by 25 live in telly v's TVT the day before, and for probably the only time in my ten yrs of supporting Leopards I considered not going. 3 of us did, Bob sat behind the basket, said a few things to our players, and stopped Yorick jumping onto the court to belt someone after Larry Johnson had been clattered. I suspect he also gave the pre-game team-talk....
It was trophy pool game, but Radio 5 on the way home said we'd won the Trophy :yay
