SEAN MCCAW SIGNS FOR JENA

Ex-Leicester Riders forward, Sean McCaw is the new power forward of Erdgas Baskets Jena (2. Bundesliga South). The 33-year old played for the Geneva Devils (Switzerland) from 2004-2006 and averaged 10.7ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.0apg, 1.5spg, 1.4bpg in 26 games during the last season.

McCaw, who is described as an explosive leaper and a great scorer, signed a contract only for the 2006-2007-season. Playing for the EWE Baskets Oldenburg in 2002-2003 he also experienced the german bundesliga. With his Austrian and US dual-citizenship McCaw doesn’t fill any of the two spots for US-players, which gives Jena the chance to sign another during the season.

By adding McCaw to the roster, Erdgas Baskets Jena completed their starting five with PG Brandon Ward, SG Alexander Seggelke, SF Gregor Linke, PF Sean McCaw and C Lars Buss.

ROBBIE PARKER SIGNS WITH FREIBURG!

In the 2. Bundesliga, USC Freiburg have signed Robbie Parker.

Parker, a combo-guard from Canterbury/England, used a try-out in Freiburg to convince head coach Petar Juric of his qualities. Parker played for BBL-side London Towers previously and spent the past three years in Kent joining a third-division-team there. He averaged 19.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg in 2005-2006.

Mike Taylor's team, Ulm played the Frankfurt Skyliners in their opening Bundesliga game. In front of a crowd of 4500 in Frankfurt, Ulm lead for 39 minutes and 59 seconds. Unfortunately Frankfurt hit a desperation 3 on the buzzer to win by 1 point.
Next up for Ulm a home game against the mighty Alba Berlin!

I have just returned from Ulm. I watched them play Koln, the German representative team in the Euroleague. Amazing game won 82-77 by Ulm. A sold out 3000 crowd(sold out 2 weeks before the game) made an unbelievable amount of noise to help their team come back froma 12 point 3rd quarter defecit. A truly huge upset, Koln have a budget approaching 6 million Euros!
Ulm are now 10-11 and in 10th place in the Bundesliga.

That's good for John!

Going from the EBL to Europe.

Not many BBL players get to make that transition so that's a very good move for him.
