Alrighty.... I'll try and analyse the Knicks... Restricted Free Agents: David Lee (PF/C) I'd like us to keep Lee. He's coming off a season where he completely excelled in D'Antoni's system and averaged roughly 18 points and 12 rebounds, while leading the league in double-doubles. That's more than Dwight Howard, who surely averages something like 38 rebounds per. He's one of the best free agents out there, which is probably why someone will overpay and he'll be out of NY. I'd like us to match, though, if it's $10m per year or under. Everyone's saying "clear space for Bron and Bosh!", well I'm saying in all seriousness that I'd rather have Lee at $10m than Bosh at max. I don't rate Chris Bosh at all, and certainly don't think he's worth $8m more than Lee, or whatever the max will start at. Besides, I don't think we'll get LeBron anyways. I'd like to see Lee come back. He's not good on the defensive end (although he's always against someone taller than him, so I guess we can't be sure on his man D to actual PF's) and his outside shooting could improve (but that's taken massive strides in the years), but he's young and he's made great improvements every year. I'd be very happy to see him come in and play PF, with Jordan Hill and Darko covering C, and Hill taking some backup PF minutes. Nate Robinson (PG/SG) He can go. He'll do really well for a winning team at a reasonable price, or a smaller team that just needs some excitement, but I don't like him in a system like D'Antonis. We just drafted a scoring small guard, but this one plays D too, so Nate's job has done. He was frustrating at times but incredibly entertaining, so best of luck to him somewhere else! Unrestricted free agents Chris Wilcox (PF/C) Well, he's going, so no point wasting the time! |
