The London Metropolitan Basketball League (the UK's largest regional league) held its Finals Day yesterday. HCCA regained the Men's Premier League title going 15/3 and taking the title from last year's champions Rocco's Raiders (14/4) who HCCA beat twice during the season. However, Rocco's got a measure of revenge yesterday denying HCCA to do the League/Cup "double" with a thrilling 68/66 win. HCCA were the Cup holders. To my knowledge no Men's team has ever managed to do the double. Haringey Angels did achieve the League/Cup double with a 10pt win over Eastside Heat. Eastside were wiothout two key players on London Police basketball duty. Lewisham Thunder beat Camden Knights to win the Men's Plate for the first time. Once again, many thanks to Roger Bacchus, Courtney Carter and John Letizia for all their sterling work in getting over 50 teams in 4 divisions and 3 Cup competitions playing and completing the season successfully.
