So is that a step up or sideways or what?

On paper it's a step up, although both teams will play in EB Senior leagues as well as the LMBL, usually with most of the same players....Omega, Westside etc. White Heat are a bit of an exception as a number of their key players are HCCA guys who play for HCCA in the LMBL and White Heat in EB Div 3 (hence White Heat being at the wrong end of the LMBL Prem Div). Westside are another EB 3 team that perhaps tries to take on too much (EB 3, LMBL and Middlesex League) and might be a lot more successful if they concentrated on just one comp.

At the risk of stating the obvious, the success of Lambeth and Westminster will depend on recruitment and their organisational set-up. If you don't do either well, you'll end up like Omega!! The top end of the LMBL is as good as (if not better than) EB Div 3 and 4 anyway so I expect they'll be ok. Westminster will be in the LMBL Prem Div next season. I suppose in terms of actual level of play,it's more of a sideways move but demonstrates an aspiration to move to a higher level.
