Hello everyone, What are the best sources of understanding roasting or how to roast, including books, online resources or other means excluding roasting courses. Where shall I start from to know the basics of roasting, in order to start roasting. Kenneth Davids' book, Home Coffee Roasting: Romance and Revival, is a little older but really explains the theory and various methods. Cafe todo el dia, tequila toda la noche I have Davids' book and like it a lot. My advice is read the book, watch tutorials on Coffee Geek and elsewhere and then start some sort of roasting. During maybe 15 years of roasting, I have used a hot air popcorn popper, a Hot Top and now a cast iron skillet over a Coleman burner. In my opinion, skillet roasting is superior to popcorn popper and can give you a great roast. Only drawback is that it can be harder to achieve a uniform roast than with a Hot Top, etc. Thnaks I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
