News and Notes on MTV's Wrestling Society X The Charleston Post-Courier interviewed Cody Michaels, who is part of the Wrestling Society X creative team over the weekend regarding the WSX debut on MTV on Tuesday 1/30. While discussing the company's product, Michaels noted, "It has what I feel has been lacking in the national spotlight for some time. It's a major national television show focused on young, underexposed, talented wrestlers that are not household names. It's a show that will focus on their in-ring skills, with a production focus and quality that is in theme with the feel and attitude of the targeted demographic." Noting that the series is only 30 minutes long every week, Michaels commented, "It's great, energy-filled entertainment. It's not garbage wrestling and it's not totally gimmick matches. It's good, young, fresh talent that can wrestle that people will like and want to keep seeing. You're going to turn it on at 10:30, and within two minutes you're going to be right into a match and some action. There'll be three matches with high impact and a lot of wrestling. There'll be some stipulation matches and lot of pyro. We had an exploding cage, time bomb death match, Hollywood style, with the ring going boom. But I don't want that to overshadow the match, because the match was excellent. It was great wrestling. You can read the entire article at this link. Other members of the WSX creative team include Kevin Kleinrock, Keith Lipinski, and Vampiro. The official Wrestling Society X website can be found at www.WSX.MTV.com. I tell you what, this WSX looks very exciting. It won't offer the best wrestling, but it damn sure looks exciting and entertaining, which is more than can be said for WWE, ECW, and TNA at the moment. And with 30 minutes a show, you're not devoting much time to them. I'll be watching for sure. |

I'm sorry, but....WHAT?! That is nothing more than TNA with an exploding cage. It is every peice of crap/gimmicky wrestling rolled into one. Short of a total overhaul, I will never watch this. I give it 6 months. |

I'll watch the first night to see what it's all about...ECW sucks until the last 15-minutes anyway...these days, even that part sucks... In a wrestling world in much need of alternative, I can't say no to at least trying it out... |

Ah come on, Q. It may be MTV, but the trailer looks pretty damn good for what it is, highspots and hardcore. And in this day and age, when WWE is giving us Rosie/Trump and Cena/Khali, I'll gladly take 30 minutes of something that at least appears to be exciting. Hell, it can't be no worse than RAW, Impact, and ECW. |

I'll take garbage wrestling and spotfests over Khali, Mark Henry, or anyone of that sort ANY DAY... At least that crazy stuff is entertaining... |

Haha, wasn't Goldberg Crim. I've read the spoilers for the entire season, no Bill. The only time you'll be seeing Goldberg is on Showtime next month when they debut their MMA promotion/show. He's a commentator... along with Mario "AC Slater" Lopez  |

It could be another TNA, or even worse. But God knows you and Chad are both right. Hell, I wish 'em the best of luck, that's for sure. |
