Arn Anderson & Finlay Behind CM Punk's De-push According to Dave Scherer, the main culprits in the recent de-push for C.M. Punk are WWE agents Arn Anderson and Fit Finlay. Punk is currently in the doghouse as he disagreed with the layout of the Elimination Chamber match with Arn Anderson and Michael Hayes who were the producers for it. For last week's ECW T.V., Dave Lagana had written that Punk should get Holly in his vice finisher and Holly should turn over, grab a rope and pin Punk. In the production meeting when the T.V. was being put together, the whole room turned on Punk when Lagana told them his idea. Arn Anderson especially was against him, saying that Holly should make Punk pay his dues as he's just "Heyman's guy" and not any good so Holly shouldn't need to cheat to pin him. Anderson also said Punk was only over because Heyman fluked it and it shouldn't be happening. Punk was personally told by Anderson that "after 14 years on being on WWE televison, Holly is the bigger star" as an explanation why the heel should pin the babyface clean. The actual finish was came up by Finlay. Additionally, while of course Heyman is a fighter when it comes to trying to get his ideas over, the new ECW writer Dave Lagana is more of a laid back guy who just wants to go with the flow, so Anderson and Finlay have had a much easier time getting Punk booked to look weak. It was also reported that Punk's first loss was originally going to occur through a ref bump-type screwjob, but Finlay and Anderson once again got the match changed to the clean loss for Punk. Just goes to show NO ONE with the last name Anderson should ever be given the book. This action seems very Ole-ish to me. |

That is really fuck weak. CM Punk is one of the few reasons I even consider watching that show...I still don't watch it, but he's one of the reasons I think about tuning in. |

Remember: This is glorified hearsay and gossip from backstage, but if this is how it went down and why, then that is indeed stupid. These are the kinds of moves that just assure "ECW's" continued decline into being the new Heat and Velocity show. |

The 2nd era of Y2J has begun
|
While CM Punk's initial months with WWE were plagued by heat from a few key members of the WWE power bloc, he now has heat with much of the lockerroom, the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter reports. Management received multiple complaints from wrestlers who claimed that Punk carries a "main-event" attitude backstage despite being relatively new to World Wrestling Entertainment. Sources say that Punk doesn't say or do anything inherently disrespectful, but his sarcastic attitude is not well-received by a lockerroom that does not believe he's earned the right to possess such an attitude. The Observer adds that his relationship with Maria does not help his standing in the lockerroom. |

I love Punker myself, but the prospect of making Maria a single lady again does lead one to contemplate many sordid evil things against him. (tickles mustache) |

It just sounds like Punk is being punished for having his own damn opinion. and finlay and arn anderson didnt like that so much, so they go crying to vince, the writers, the refs, and just everyon who will put up with them to whine bitch moan and complain. then to get them to shut the f*ck up, vince tells them ok stop pushing him. personally i dont think that theres anything wrong with stating your mind. Punk is on of the few things that is good about ecw....and he is one of the better in ring talents... what does finlay know anyway??? hes hides a midget under the ring for f*ck sakes |

All I know is I remember seeing no less than Triple H himself putting his arm around CM Punk the week before Survivor Series and putting the guy over in front of God and man. That's got to mean something. Hell, you KNOW it means something. The guy delivers the goods, the rest of this is preschool BS. |

Although not confirmed, according to several sources in contact with the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter, CM Punk earned himself more backstage heat. After learning that he was booked to lose on a house show card, the report says, Punk reportedly asked the road agent if the reports of him being in WWE's doghouse were true. The agent denied the idea that there was heat on Punk, but then told colleagues about the conversation, which exacerbated their ill-feelings of the wrestler. Of course, because wrestlers like Carlito, Rob Van Dam and Shelton Benjamin have received heat for "no-selling" being booked in jobs, one has to wonder if Punk had a viable option in this situation, notes the Observer. |

That report comes on the heels of a news post from two days ago saying that Punk was in line for a big push and may be headed to Raw... Who the hell knows what is true? |

Meltzer has been off many times over the past couple of years. If I'm not mistaking, it was the guys at PWI who said he was inline for a push. I believe them over Meltzer. PWI says Punk has another year, close to two on his contract with WWE... and the likely hood of him being fired isn't too high. I don't see him in TNA anytime. If he would even go back there, since he supposedly isn't too high on them since they treated him like shit a couple of years back. He'd be more likely to return to ROH. |

I certainly hope not. Six is pushing it, eight is just overkill, especially when you're spread thin as is. So with that, I have a hard time believing this as well. |

well let's see...who could be in it Carlito Shelton Edge Orton CM MVP Booker Kennedy All of those guys currently could work in it. And with 8 you could make the match longer. So I wouldn't be totally against it. If you think about it, TLC 2 (Mania X7) had all 3 teams, plus rhyno, spike, and lita....that's 9...it worked out well. Plus, this enables WWE to use more talent. |

I've got no problem with more folks being on the card, but not in one match. If we're going to get Kane/Khali and Ashley/Melina, why throw all all the good midcard guys in one match? With Kennedy and MVP in the match, who is Benoit going to face? Chavo or Finlay? I've seen those matches too many times in the past year to care at all. They're screwing the card up with too many guys in one match, and then too much filler to waste time. |
