I see this idea every few months it seems. Am I the only one who sees the classic Horsemen brilliance of Flair, Benoit, and The Worlds Greatest Tag Team? Punk and Lashley while good wrestlers who are over just don't have that Horsemen-ish quality to me. |

I like the idea with bringing back the horsemen...I like the idea of bringing in TWGTT, but the basic breakdown of the Horsemen is you have the face of the group (Flair) you have the greatest technical wrestler (Benoit) but then you have an enforcer i.e. (Lashley, or some other big guy) and then you have the rising star that is making an impact i.e. (Punk, Jeff Hardy, Carlito) But if all else fails the idea of TWGTT is just as good to me...if they brought back the horsemen I would be happy no matter what the combo as long as it all made sense storyline wise |

I'm with ya, Jules. Punk's character doesn't fit the Horsemen lifestyle. Haas and Benjamin would get a great rub from that... I bet Khali was brought in for something with Hogan. Hogan and Show vs. Khali and Umaga...gets all crap out of the way in one fell swoop...better than two singles matches... |

I see your point about the classic Horsemen breakdown, but in all fairness, Benoit, while one of the best 'technical' workers ever also more than fills the role of enforcer that was held by Double A... while Shelton (who I think would be the first black horsemen) could also be great as the rising star of the group.. (especially since WWE seems to have forgotten about his singles push).. and then there's Charlie who's just a great workhorse to have around. As an avid fan of the IV Horsemen faction though I'm just against any member of the group that doesn't fit in with the horseman image. (Of being limousine riding, jet flying, womanizing, booze drinking (Sorry Punk) title winning wrestlers..) Guys like Hardy, Carlito, and Punk all have their own distinct characters which in no way would be benifitted by being a member of a stable (unless they were the leaders of said stable..) However, men like Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Hass, Shelton etc fit a kind of mold of a simplistic wrestler character that works well in a group environment. Furthermore, for me seeing Jeff Hardy, Punk or Carlito in the Four friggin' Horsemen, would be like seeing Justin Timberlake, Clay Aiken, and Ricky Martin in The Rat Pack... Frank, Sammy and Dino would roll in their collective graves. |

The 2nd era of Y2J has begun

As much as I like the horseman idea, do you guys really think it's right? Sure, it would make sense, it would be interesting, and it would bring me back to a serious WWE fan. But aren't we living in the past enough already? I'm all for the stable, but are you sure we want to use the name 'Four Horseman'? |

^^While I feel bringing back a stable like the NWO would be terrible.....bringing back a stable like the Horsemen is prime. You have Ric Flair tell Vince, he has final say over what happens since that is his legacy, and then you bring in who we were talking about. That's a feud with teeth. |

^^Perhaps., but my main concern is that it's too risky using the name 'Four Horseman'. Risky in the sense that it's legacy could possibly be sullied. I'd much rather have a the same people we were talking about, with a different stable name. |

At this point I don't really think it could do that much harm. Ric Flair hasn't got alot of time left in him at this point, and if he could go out the same way he came in as the ring leader of a badass stable, I think it would be a fitting tribute. Then afterwards, all parties could go their respective ways. |

4 Horseman vs. a Rated RKO led stable works for me, especially with DX gone. God knows it's a million times better than Khali and Rosey vs. Donald bullshit. I really see no downside to the idea, especially in contrast to dreck like that. |

Well, while I can respect that let's look at some of the screw ups with the Horsemen. 1.) Lex Luger 2.) Steve McMichael 3.) Jeff Jarrett Having Ric, Benoit, and TWGTT would be a huge, huge, huge! Step in the right direction. |

One of the big moddy moderators should cut this thread in two and create us all a 'Horseman discussion thread' so we can all mosey on over there and keep the Raw thread slightly on topic. EDIT I forgot I AM a big moddy moderator! Anyway, my dream incarnation of the Horsemen, that unfortunately never got to happen would've been Benoit/Malenko, Brian Pillman & Steve Austin. (Stunning Steve that is...) I woulda had them become a new young heel version of the group to do battle of with Flair, Rick Rude, Arn & Tully over the rights to the name. All this would idealistically go down around 1993/1994 in WCW... |
