Happily N'Ever After (Lionsgate)

Rated: PG for some mild action and rude humor

Code Name: The Cleaner (New Line Cinema)

Rated: PG-13 for sexual content, crude humor and some violence
"Code Name: The Cleaner" centers on an amnesiac janitor who is fooled into believing he's an undercover agent on the trail of an international arms ring involving the CIA and FBI. Liu will play an actual agent who falls for the janitor, while Hurley adds intrigue as a femme fatale who uses the hapless worker for her Machiavellian devices.

January. The time of year when you know the studios dump out dreck and trash after the holidays into the theater. If any of these movies last more than a handful of weeks, I'll be amazed.

Everyone knows by now that you almost shouldn't even bother going to the movies unless it's the middle of summer or Thanksgiving-Christmas time. The studios certainly have made it painfully obvious with rare exceptions.

Not a single movie coming out this month excites me...

However, almost every movie in December did...

The Hitcher (Rogue Pictures)

Rated: R for strong bloody violence, terror and language
From filmmaker Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" [2003], "The Amityville Horror" [2005]) comes an update of the 1986 terror classic. Dave Meyers is directing the new film, which tracks the terrifying cross-country trajectory of Grace (Sophia Bush) and Jim (Zachary Knighton), two traveling college students who are tormented by the mysterious hitchhiker John Ryder, a.k.a. The Hitcher (Sean Bean).

It's a pretty tall order to ask a six-year-old to suddenly take on responsibility for his own life. The questions facing Vanya are really tough: does he want to live a comfortable life as an adopted child of a loving family in Italy? After all, for an abandoned Russian child like Vanya it really doesn't sound like a bad option. Serene life under the Mediterranean sun is awaiting him. But the boy longs to find his own mother, so he decides to set off in search of her. But before he can begin, Vanya must learn to read the file that holds the information he needs to find her. He embarks on his quest-and encounters a mysterious and dangerous world. The world of children is a universe with its own laws; a realm in which sometimes one's heart speaks louder than one's intellect.

Smokin' Aces (Universal Pictures)

Rated: R for strong bloody violence, pervasive language, nudity and drug use
An FBI agent (Reynolds) hunts for a Las Vegas stand up comedian (Piven) who has decided to squeal on the mob but, before he heads off for protective custody, decides to go to the casinos at Lake Tahoe for one last good time, drawing a crowd of assassins (including Affleck and Keys).

Rated: PG-13 for violence/terror, some sexuality and substance abuse
"Blood and Chocolate" is based on Annette Curtis Klause's novel about a teenage werewolf who has spent her life trying to hide the fact that she is part wolf. She must choose between her love for a human and her family after her relationship with a visiting American threatens to expose her secret.

After the sudden death of her fiancé, Gray Wheeler (Garner) finds comfort in the company of his friends: lighthearted and comic Sam (Kevin Smith), hyper-responsible Dennis (Sam Jaeger), and, oddly enough, his old childhood buddy Fritz (Timothy Olyphant), an irresponsible playboy whom she'd previously pegged as one of the least reliable people in the world. As secrets about her supposedly perfect fiancé emerge, Gray comes to see new sides of the man she thought she knew, and at the same time, finds herself drawn to the last man she ever expected to fall for.

Fearful of Oraz' prediction, the Jungar ruler Galdan orders his General, Sharish, to find the child and slay him. However, Oraz saves Mansur and delivers him to his father, Sultan Wali.

Seraphim Falls (Samuel Goldwyn Films)

Set at the end of the Civil War, "Seraphim Falls" tells the story of a colonel who fails to put down his weapon and instead hunts down a man to settle a grudge from the war. The film is a taut psychological action film, an epic chase and primal battle set in the breathtaking landscape of the West. The civil war has ended but Colonel Morsman Carver (Liam Neeson) is on one final mission: to kill Gideon (Pierce Brosnan) no matter what it takes. Launched by a gunshot and propelled by rage, the relentless pursuit takes them both far from the comforts and codes of civilization, into the bloodiest recesses of their own souls.

I feel the need to correct that summary:

Jim Helwiq stars as a steroid fiend that has lost his mind, providing great amusement for anyone within an earshot...that is all :yay:

That Warrior movie actually looks pretty good. I just may go see it.
