Just wanted to throw the relevant portion by you all that is worth some halfway decent discussion fodder: http://sports.ign.com/articles/713/713039p1.html This interview is mostly a fluff piece trying to pimp his new forthcoming movie, Spy Hunter, which might have a chance of being good. Frankly put: It has to. I think his entire future in Hollywood depends on it. There are BIG plans for Spy Hunter to be the beginning of a new franchise, so there's big money and expectations all over the place. It's not exagerrating in the least to say that they've bet all the marbles on Spy Hunter and The Rock goes with it, up or down. But here's the part of the interview that had me nearly slamming my head into my keyboard today:
This is a crock. Rock? Nothing makes more sense than for you and Shawn Micheals to have a classic match that every fan for the past decade plus (if not more) is dying to see. What's doubly infuriating about this is the fact that HBK's time is drawing possibly to a close. We keep reading about health issues, injuries, and the rest of it. Frankly, it's the Rock's fault and pretty much unforgiveable if this match never happens. We all saw him a few months ago ignorantly refer to that match not being any big deal or a big draw. Beyond that: The Rock coming back would make perfect sense any way you want to cut it. This product needs him, but not as long as he's so into himself like this. If the Rock wanted it, he could come back tomorrow and he'd easily be one of the top guys again at the drop of a hat. There's so many matches I'd love to see the Rock in, besides priority one against HBK, it's not even funny. He's still in his physical prime! This is such a waste! At the very least, he should have made that WM 22 match with HBK happen. No excuses. I'm going to say it point blank: Rock lost his heart, his guts, and his balls. He lost his hunger. He doesn't WANT to be in wrestling anymore, regardless of anything else. That's the bottom line. I hope this Spy Hunter film is a glowing success after all this. I hope it was all worth it, because this Spy Hunter movie is the last chance. All or nothing. And yeah, I posted this thread here instead of any wrestling section because I don't view this guy as a wrestler any longer and he doesn't DESERVE it. |

I could actually care less about the success of this movie, but I am actually kind of pulling for it to fail because then I'd laugh. Basically his best movies were The Rundown, The Scorpian King was alright, and Walking Tall was decent but about 15 minutes too short. Other than that...garbage. |
