Okay guys, as a part of the return of The Sharpshooter to the UWF main page, I want everyone around here to chime in as to who should jump to ECW and WHY. I plan on factoring this in to the first new edition...... We have four RAW and five SmackDown! Superstars, as well as a choice of a man who, when he last appeared in WWE, was on the RAW brand, and some others. Some of these Superstars are/were underutilized by WWE Creative, and some are currently "anti-ECW" at the moment but would make a good full-time fit in the new promotion. Keep in mind that the choices listed are those Superstars who, unlike the ones already confirmed or heavily rumored to be a part of ECW, perhaps SHOULD be a part of the promotion but are by no means confirmed or even in talks to join. Okay, you can choose five of the Superstars listed. GO! |

I wish I could choose more than five. I'm going to vote and then edit this post and tell you how I voted... EDIt: I voted for Benoit, since they've been depushing him since the title loss to Orton. I also voted Mysterio, Foley, Test, Jericho. Honorable Mention: Tazz (since he's not a wrestler) and Mike Awesome. |

Yeah, I included Tazz for the sole reason that, while he's been rumored to come over as an announcer/trainer, I'm still not totally sold that WWE would split he and Cole up on SmackDown!.... |

Yeah, although at this rate, sparing anything for SD is not something I'd bet any money on. |

One small thing the new ECW should take into consideration is -for the mean time- to not overload their roster. They only have one hour a week as it is, and no PPV's have been announced yet. So what good is having a roster full of talent if you only have enough time for one or two really good matches per episode? If they can secure more time later then by all means, load it up. For people I'd like to see in ECW though, all the current ex ECW guys who are currently being underpushed. Meaning, basically everyone. Even Mysterio since he's wrestling at the PPV anyway. For extra guys, I think Finlay would fit in just fine in the ECW enviroment -minus the midget- He could start some kind of an Irish stable and feud with the Full Blooded Italions. |

I voted for Test, Tazz, Edge, Foley, and Simon Dean... Essentially, I left guys off who really do well with the current WWE style. Benoit may have been an ECW guy for a short time, but he's become WHC by being one of the best wrestlers in the WWE (despite his sometimes extreme lack of a push). Big Show does well within the WWE system and is quite over...I say that despite the fact that it was Paul Heyman who put him over as the monster he is when he first got to SD. I think Edge would be a good choice b/c, despite his success as a WWE superstar, he'd be able to have near 5-star classics in ECW. |

I voted for Kane, Foley, Rey, Simon Dean(please go back to Nova), and Tazz. Basically for guys like Benoit and Edge, I left them out because of previous injuries and such, so they might be a bit better off in a more controlled wrestling environment(health wise that is). I think Foley, Rey, and Nova going back to ECW are pretty no-brainers, whereas I like the idea of Taz working some commentary with Styles or serving as a manager/trainer type role. Lastly, I think Kane would just be a monster over there. |

You're right except for one thing: Benoit has been done since losing the WHC to Orton. There's nothing left for him in the WWE now whatsoever. "Sometimes extreme lack of push"? Try all the time. As in: A neverending elevator on its way down. It's clear to me they're done doing anything meaningful with him whatsoever. It's been clear for MANY months now, consistently. He may as well go to ECW. That could only be a step up and improvement vs. coming back to Smackdown and doing more of the same: Not much of anything. Losing to Finlay. Feuding with losers like Orlando Jordan, etc. As far as health goes: If ANGLE can do it? Benoit can do it. Those two would be crown jewels for this "new ECW" all the way. |

I'll also add that I SOMEHOW left Matt Hardy off the list of choices, so anyone can write him in if they wish. I read at LOP that Charlie Haas and Akio are some other names being considered, as is Big Show and Rob Conway.......... |

Big Show in ECW? Well, it's been a while since ECW fans had a good person to chant 'You Fat Fuck!' at.. So whatever works.... |

I think I wrote that in at least one other thread: Matt, if not both Hardy Boyz would be ideal ECW fits...if you can keep Jeff somewhat focused and sober. |

Of those listed, I chose Finlay. I know there are others on the list that would fit in, but I think his style would be more appreciated in the new ECW (as opposed to Smackdown!.) |

Hardy should definitely head over there, as should Haas... I think both the guys would be flat out studs in ECW, w/ Haas being a great candidate for the TV title. Hardy would have some great matches in the hardcore environment...I'd love to see him work with Sabu, RVD, and others who work that style really well. Hell, Hardy vs. Dreamer sounds good to me... |

Agreed. SD would far and away be the best fit for him. He'd literally walk out and be a top guy on the card. |
