the way it stands right now is that either Triple H or Randy Orton will be challenging Cena for the title at Mania

Assuming you don't get any special guests in there, here's the most compelling WM card I can come up with for main eventers and big names:

What I want to see, and this is assuming no one outside of the current active roster shows up:

HBK vs. Cena

Triple H vs. Orton in some kind of over the top gimmick match.

Batista vs. Undertaker, possibly also a gimmick match.

I'm looking for Cena-Trips, Taker-Batista as the two title matches...

Maybe Orton wins MITB III?

Edge faces HBK in some kind of gimmick match?

As someone here has said before, if they do another Money In The Bank Ladder Match, I certainly hope that they don't make it a "we have nothing else for you" type of match.

I would much rather they put the best 6 guys possible to make the match badass.

I wish that there was some type of big feud or match for Booker T. He deserves it, especially this year, but I cannot think of ANYTHING. The only match I can think of, that would be big enough, is Chad's idea of Booker T vs Shawn Michaels.

Personally, I'd much rather have a TLC Match:
MNM, Haas & Benjamin, Hardys, (And maybe add London & Kendrick or RVD & Sabu)

than another Money In The Bank Ladder Match. But that Ladder Match from Armageddon kind of throws that out. Not to mention that there has been two other TLC matches this year. (Edge vs Flair and Edge vs Cena). And I agree, MNM and the Hardys have both seen enough ladders. Not only because of Merury's injury, but also because of that Nitro/Jeff Hardy IC Title Match.

So MITB is probably the better way to go. Or maybe no ladder match at all.

Plus there was an ECW ladder match with RVD vs Sabu. Speaking of ECW: What the Hell does it have to offer for WM? Seriously, I can't think of any WM-worthy match involving only ECW. Not one-on-one, triple threat, tag team, fatal fourway, NOTHING!!!

I don't know if it's worthy, but RVD vs. Test vs. Lashley vs. Punk sounds like a logical booking prediction...

Well, I thought I'd give this another go...

Obvious matches: Taker vs. Batista, Trips vs. Cena II, Hogan vs. Big Show

HBK vs. Edge - There's just no reason for the DX-RatedRKO feud to simply end with no payoff match at Mania. Trips-Edge is the fresher match, but HBK should be given the chance to steal the show. Edge deserves a big match. Mr. Wrestlemania vs. Mr. 2006, as far as I'm concerned...

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk - The more I think about it, the more I think it'd be a waste of talent to have Punk just compete in an ECW title match. This is a feud that could have some serious legs. It's a long shot...big time long shot. BUT, there is some history there with their Survivor Series encounter. Let's say Punk eliminates Orton in the Rumble. Bingo...feud begins. Back and forth b/t brands they could go until the match at Mania. Given Orton's stature and Legend Killer status, I'd have him win at Mania in a very competitive match (it'd be Punk's first loss). The following night on Raw, I'd have Punk show up and surprise Orton, continuing the feud and having Punk make the permanent brand switch.

Tables Elimination World Tag Titles: TWGTT vs. MNM vs. The Hardys - After the success of the tag team ladder match at Armageddon, you'd think they'd want to continue that success. We'll see what ultimately happens, but this would make a fantastic edition to this card.

King Booker vs. Finlay - It's been building for awhile. They had a match on SD, but it wasn't in the midst of a feud. They ought to feud...

Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Kennedy vs. Benoit vs. Kane vs. Carlito vs. Kenny Dykstra vs. Chris Masters - Kennedy wins and gets his eventual title shot, but Carlito, Kenny, and Benoit steal everyone's thunder and are the most creative men in the match. THis could be a really opportunity for Carlito to shine.

ECW Champ Lashley vs. Test vs. RVD - Maybe add a fourth guy to make it a four-way...

Women's Champ Victoria vs. Mickie James - Screw the other women...these two are the ones to carry the women's division until AT LEAST April.

^^I still think Punk should win the Royal Rumble....no one else makes sense....

The Rumble is the launching pad for Hot talent.....who is bigger than Punk right now?

And as much as I would like to see that tag match...I just don't see Mercury being up to par by Mania...

What title does Punk challenge for, though?

Agreed...the Rumble is a launching pad, but neither current champion makes for a logical opponent for Punk unless he turns heel.

I think we can all agree, though, that Punk should do something that matters...and ECW doesn't matter...

I wouldn't mind seeing a Cena/Punk/HHH main event, have kinda the same scenario play out from Mania 20 with either Cena or Punk getting the "W"...plus I want to see Punk defend the title at Backlash in Atlanta! :spot:

1. SD! TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
HARDYZ vs HOOLIGANZ

Instead lumping 4 amazing teams in one match, I decided to go a different route and split it into two great matches. Hell, why not? There are 2 Tag Team Championships and 2 awesome tag matches are better than one IMO. This match has been a dream tag match of mine and should be a great way to open the ppv. Face vs Face is fine here.

2. MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH
CARLITO/SUPERCRAZY/KENNEDY/MYSTERIO/LASHLEY/SABU

Wow. Difficult to book this year with 3 brands. I had a hard time deciding on about 3 or 4 of the 6 men to put in this match. For example, Supercrazy or Kenny? Honestly neither. I think this match should only have wrestlers from just under the Main Event. But I chose Supercrazy because I think he's better suited for a ladder match and would make the match more interesting.

3. EXTREME RULES MATCH (ECW vs SD!)
FINLEY & REGAL vs TOMMY DREAMER & SANDMAN

I know this one is a bit strange, but I wanted a way to get some ECW guys on the card without just throwing them the MITB or having a Multi-man ECW Championship match. And I wanted Finley on the card without him facing Booker T. I know that Finley and Regal have "gone their separate ways," but I think they could team up once again for 'Mania. Regal & Finley can be hardcore and they could team up once again to try and beat the "Kings of Extreme" at their own game. I think the story would be interesting especially if one team taunts the other and some crossbrand stuff feuding happens before WM. They should pull out everything for this match: barbed wire and weapons galore. Just make it as hardcore as possible. And What the Hell, just for kicks, have the Little Bastard come from under the ring only to get caned to shit by Sandman.

4. US CHAMPIONSHIP
BENOIT vs KANE vs CHAVO GUERRERO

Meh, This is my least favorite match on my card. I just don't have anything for these guys to do except battle over the US Championship. But considering the 3 involved, I'm sure they could have a good match.

5.WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
MICKIE JAMES vs MELINA

I would have added Victoria to this match, but I already have 3 tag matches, MITB, and a triple threat on the card. I want the rest of the card one-on-one. And Melina would be a fresh opponent for Mickie.

6. ECW CHAMPIONSHIP
ROB VAN DAM vs CM PUNK

I know Lashley is the Champion and probably will be at WM. I'm just NOT into a Fatal 4way for the ECW Championship. And I'm not really into Lashley as the Champion. Therefor I used the best two possible candidates in a one-on-one matchup.

7. SHAWN MICHAELS vs KING BOOKER

I'm sorry, but I'm just not into Finley vs Booker T. Maybe at a smaller ppv, but not for Wrestlemania. I want Booker to have a big match at 'Mania. He deserves it and Shawn Michaels is the only opponent that I can think of that would work for Booker.

8. RAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
WGTT vs MNM

Basically, another great Tag Match. I'd turn Benjamin and Haas face for this match.

9. EDGE vs TRIPLE H

I WANT THIS MATCH. It just makes so much sense. And what better way to end the Rated RKO/DX feud than a payoff match btwn Edge and Triple H?

10. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
BATISTA vs UNDERTAKER

This is about the ONLY possible matchup for the World Championship. They can continue the feud after WM and have that Hell In A Cell dream match.

11. WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
JOHN CENA vs RANDY ORTON

It was either this match or Edge vs Triple H for the WWE Championship and I went with this one because Cena is holding the Championship at the moment.

I figured it was time I try making a WM card. This is the best I could come up with.

John Cena and Shawn Michaels are both face going into this No Disqualification match for the WWE Championship. Out of respect for each other, neither man uses a weapon. Michaels kicks out of several FU’s, and Cena goes berserk on Michaels with a steel chair, putting HBK out of action in the process (for the knee surgery he needs). As a result of Cena’s vicious assault to retain the title, Cena turns heel and things pick up on RAW with THE Doctor of Thuganomics.

Winner and STILL Champion: John Cena

Streak vs. Title. It’s WrestleMania, so Undertaker wins the title and a new, dark era begins on Smackdown… possibly with the demonic Undertaker ala 1999. The feud continues through Judgment Day with the dream Hell in a Cell match.

Winner and NEW Champion: Undertaker

Posted Image
I want bigger things for CM Punk, hence why isn’t in this match. Keep it short, close to the beginning of the card and under Extreme Rules and it’ll be a nice little match to give ECW something on the card. RVD picks up the win.

Winner and NEW Champion: RVD

Posted Image
These two have shown they can have good matches with each other in the past, and since Edge’s game has improved tremendously since 2005 when these guys last battled. The card needs that one, great wrestling match, and this would certainly deliver. If it were me, I’d end Edge’s WM streak now so he doesn’t get the Undertaker treatment. Plus, I’d build towards a Undertaker/Benoit program for the World Championship. Edge has established himself as a main event guy, Benoit needs the win to get back to the level.

Winner: Chris Benoit

Posted Image
CM Punk’s first big feud, and his first big chance to see just how over he is and how popular he can be. Could be and should be one hell of a match, and could be the match people look at as CM Punk’s breakthrough match. Punk needs something to get him off ECW and onto a bigger platform. Unless WWE screws it up, Punk could easily be WWE’s next big thing. He needs a great showing at WM against one of WWE’s best young guys, and this fit’s the bill. Punk gets the win, and his rise to the top truly begins.

Winner: CM Punk

Posted Image
I’ve seen this match rumored to take place, and I must say it is one that I’d love to see. Always wanted these two to team up, but a match between them would be just as interesting and entertaining. If JBL is to stay out of action, then naturally Kennedy needs the win to continue his slow rise to the main event. If it’s to be a grand return for JBL, then I’d give him the win. But I’ll go with the safe bet and say if it were to happen, it’d be a Mick Foley type deal. Therefore…

Winner: Mr. Kennedy

Posted Image
The MITB match always has a Kane or Lashley in it, this would shouldn’t follow that path. We all know what the Hardy Boyz can do in a ladder match. Ditto now to Johnny Nitro. Carlito should’ve been in it last year. Add in Chavo, and the weapon crazy Sabu, and you could have the most exciting MITB match ever, and that’s saying something. Jeff Hardy has busted his ass since coming back, be it ladder matches, cage matches, or working all three brands. He’s been everywhere, and he’s more than made up for his no showing back in 2002. I’d give him the win, and build towards a Cena/Hardy TLC match for Summer Slam.

Winner: Jeff Hardy

Posted Image
I wanted both guys on the card, and couldn’t really think of anything for either man, so here we are. If Undertaker were to go heel, then Booker should drop the King gimmick and Sharmell, and become a face again. Given the chance, these two could have a decent to good little match. This would be one of those matches at WM that doesn’t get more than eight minutes to add time to the bigger matches. Both men deserve a spot on the card though.

Winner: Booker T

Posted Image
I’d make this Champions vs. Champions, but not put the title on the line (unless WWE would like to unify the titles and have the champions do both shows, which I’d LOVE to see happen). WM needs one great tag team match, in my opinion, and we hardly ever get that. Not this year though. The World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. The Hooligans, in a straight wrestling match with the usual Hooligans high-flying, for about 15-20 minutes, would surely bump the old rating for WM up. Doesn’t really matter who wins, as I like both teams. I’d say give it to TWGTT though.

Winner: The Worlds Greatest Tag Team

Posted Image
The filler match just because you need to get Kane and Umaga on the show. I like Hardcore Holly, and I think a Holly/RVD feud for the ECW Championship would be a great “ECW” feud. So I envision this as Holly doing his super-heavyweight, I’m a bad ass who can beat anyone gimmick. So he gets a match with Smackdown’s monster, Kane, and RAW’s monster, Umaga. To make it bearable, the match is contested under Hardcore rules. And yes, I completely this match off of Kane/Raven/Big Show which was entertaining.

Winner: Hardcore Holly

Posted Image
The women need a match on WrestleMania, just because. So unless we could get Trish Stratus or Molly Holly to return for one match, this is the best option, as it gets the four best female wrestlers on the card in one match. And given the chance, it could be good. I actually thought Trish/Mickie was one of the highlights of last years WM, and considering I like women’s wrestling, I think this would make for a good little women’s championship WM match. Victoria needs to be established as the dominate female though, so I’d give her the win. She’s the most experience now, she’s the vet. She’s paid her dues, and now it’s her time.

Winner: Victoria.

Plusses: Everyone who deserves a spot on the card, with the exception of William Regal and maybe Kenny, have a match. Best of all, there’s no Hogan, Khali, Big Show, Henry, Akebono, Boogeyman match to be found. We get two fresh main events with Cena/HBK and Taker/Batista, which leads to RAW getting freshened up with the return of heel Cena as champion and Smackdown getting freshened up with the demonic heel Undertaker as champion. And both RAW and Smackdown have great, fresh title matches for Summer Slam with Cena/Hardy and Taker/Benoit.

Minuses : I assume Triple H and Rey Mysterio will both be out come WrestleMania, and as such, neither man will be on the show. Of course, I’d have a hard time finding room for either after making this card.

I could definitely dig that card...

Wrestlemania 23 (revised)

Raw Main-event: WWE Champion John Cena vs. HBK - This would be the finals of a one-night, four-man tournament of sorts, w/ the details below. They might do this anyway, but with Trips out for a long time, I think they need to maintain the credibility of their top heels at all costs, and having them in a tag match or facing each other or turning one of them face is just plain dumb.

Women's Champ Mickie James vs. Victoria vs. Melina - I hate to call it the match that people will use to rest up for the main-event, but someone has got to do it. NYR showed signs of this feud already getting going.

SD Main-event: WHC Batista vs. Undertaker - Gimmick or no gimmick, one would figure that this match would take place based on all rumors. I think the Cell strengthens the match quality and adds to an extra special feel to an already special PPV, but realize it's unlikely they'll go that route.

ECW Champion Bobby Lashley vs. RVD vs. CM Punk vs. Test (Extreme Rules) - I know there are rumors of Khali vs. Lashley, but I won't admit that it's going to happen until I see it booked on the wwe website. Thus, I'm sticking with my guns that they'll try to get all the ECW talent they feel needs to be on the card in one fell swoop.

Part Two of the New Raw main-event: WWE Champion John Cena vs. Randy Orton - I'd have this around the end of the second hour. When things are looking grim for Orton, Edge runs down to interfere on his partner's behalf, but instead distracts Orton and allows Cena to regain control and win the match. This way, both of the top heels are protected in their losses, so the face champion has legit challengers post-Mania.

JBL, Finlay, King Booker, and MVP vs. Kane, Chris Benoit, and The Hooliganz (London and Kendrick) - I'm probably off the mark just like I was two years ago, but I'd like to see all this Teddy Long bashing result in a big match at Mania with Teddy's job on the line. Put all his detractors (allowing JBL to come out of retirement) on one-side against a collection of babyfaces who ought to get a spot on the card and let her rip...

Big Show vs. Hulk Hogan - I don't see much reason to push this really high on the card. This is a nice spot for them. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'll probably mark out for it.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Johnny Nitro vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Umaga vs. Kenny Dykstra - This would have the potential to top it's predecessors, with Hardy, Nitro, and Kenny added. Umaga would be in there as the unstoppable big man and the favorite. As far as Kennedy is concerned, he’s a hot commodity with great mic skills…he’ll end up on Raw eventually…may as well get it over with and let him win this.

Part One of the New Raw main-event: Shawn Michaels vs. Edge - I'd have this open the show and tear the house down right off the bat. Is it fair to ask these guys to potentially wrestle twice? Probably not, but I don't assume there'd be much complaining about being in the title scene at the biggest show of the year. Rated-RKO will have a lot of heat for having been a part of the match where Trips got knocked out. They'll set their sights on the title. HBK wins here, though...after Orton's interference backfires.

Personally, I could give a shit about ecw now....it's a glorified Velocity.

Bottomline, had it kept on the same pace and quality it started with, it would be doing very well. But they dropped the ball as usual. Has anyone noticed there hasn't been an extreme rules match lately?!

Looking over the entire roster on all the brands right now, I can't honestly see a single possible match up that screams 'must check that out' to me. Unless they do some weird and insanely brutal TLC type thing, which even then, I've seen it so many times before that I'd be mostly numb to anything this side of someone jumping out of a moving helicopter whilst imploding themselves and their opponent with hand grenades (which happen to break seven thousand nearby dining tables) upon impact...

Anyway, let's look at the possible 'main event' matches for each brand, and then some interbrand stuff as well. I'm trying hard to just think of stuff that I'd actually 'like' to see. So no Khali or Umaga vs anyone.

For sure the Raw main event will probably feature one of Edge, Cena, Orton or HBK, could be an interesting or good match regardless of how you do it, but still Cena vs HBK vs Orton vs Edge screams B level main event PPV, and while that'd make a great main event for say, Backlash, but for Wrestle fucking Mania... it'd just be another match regardless of how arrange it.

Wouldn't matter if it was Edge vs Cena, HBK vs Cena, or Orton vs Cena... We've seen it all many times before, and while it might be Wrestlemania worthy for some, to me, I'd just download it afterwards like any other event. Not to say it couldn't be good stuff, which it very well could be, but on paper it just doesn't scream 'BUY ME' which a Wrestlemania main event should do.

As for Smackdown, Batista vs anyone is a dull prospect. Undertaker makes sense storyline wise, and might make for an entertaining angle, but you know the match itself is going to suuu-uh-uhhhh-ck a big fat giant diseased penis. And booking wise, it's lose lose, I don't want to see Taker's streak ended by Big Davey Bitch-tits, but then again, I don't really need to see Taker with any kind of title any time soon either.

ECW has the same issue with Blaster Lashley at the moment. Wouldn't matter if it was RVD, Punk, Sandman or Balls fuckin Mahoney in an extreme rules set your grandmother on fire and drive a car off a cliff death match, it'd still suck monkey balls and would at best, be a Velocity level main event.

I can't remember a Wrestlemania that I was less excited for. Thank God Donal Trump and Hulk Hogan might show up to save the day though... ( <--- Extremely obvious raging sarcasm..)
