Hey guys, on PWTorch they have this reader draft thing going on where you basically just pick 10 guys to build a fantasy promotion around. So, I thought we could do that here... CMV1 Fantasy Promotion Draft 1) Kurt Angle- you can't start a promotion without a top name to build around, so my first order of business would be to sign Angle and give him my World Title. Health is always an issue with him, but i'd be putting him against only the kind of talent that he'd be least likely to get injured with. 2) Christian- he'd be the guy I'd immediately feud against Angle. He's not a huge name, but he has the talent to get over with any crowd. I'd make him a more versatile wrestler ala Angle by giving him a submission hold to compliment the Unprettier. Christian is young enough that I could essentially have my promotion built around him for years and years. 3) Brock Lesnar- I'd spend any amount of money to get this prodigy in my promotion, for he's easily one of the most talented guys you'll find in the ring, and he still has enough upside that he could blossom into one of the greatest ever. He'd feud with both of the above and be the dominant heel in my promotion. 4) Abyss- speaking of dominant heels, that's how TNA's monster would start out. I think Abyss is very good and comparable as a worker to Kane when the BRM first started out. Abyss has a good gimmick so i'd keep it going and make Paul Heyman his mouthpiece. 5) Paul Heyman- that's right, Paul Heyman. And why? B/c he's one of the most brilliant minds in the business. He'd be my head writer and booker, and he'd also run a stable led by the monster Abyss. 6) Shawn Michaels- still one of the most gifted wrestlers in the business at age 40, and barring injury he probably has a few more years left in him. Thus, i'd book him as the "Legend" on my roster and feud him with Abyss and Lesnar. 7) Shelton Benjamin- would start off as my Intercontinental Champion and would be Kurt Angle's shadow. Shelton has the potential to take the WWE style to a new level much like HBK did in the mid-90's. Eventually, that'd be one of my money feuds: HBK vs. SB...and of course Angle and SB would eventually clash for the title. 8) AJ Styles- who would start off feuding over my mid-card belt against Shelton. Styles needs mic skills, but in-ring work is nearly unparalleled. He may be small, but my promotion won't be about size. I would eventually like to push him to the main-event, but a good two years as a staple in the mid-card title division would be where he'd earn his stripes. 9) Carlito- i'm getting back on his bandwagon, as he's improving by the month at this point. I wrote in a column a few months back that i thought he'd be one of the best wrestlers in the WWE in a couple of years, and I'll stick with that in saying he'd be my top guy in a few years time. 10) Rob Van Dam- I'd have him be the ultimate tweener, and just play a cocky loner. I'd also hand him a live mic and tell him to just go talk on most nights that he doesn't wrestle. Basically, he'd be a shoot promo machine. Honorable mention: Triple H (who i'd name my wrestling-GM and keep his wrestling to a few PPVs a year), Rey Mysterio, MNM (who i'd build my tag team division around), and Christopher Daniels |

1) Shawn Micheals: Like Chad said you have to lead it off with a top guy to build the promotion around. He can go up against anyone and make them look like a million bucks, I would immediately put the strap on him and let him wrestle in matches at PPV's that went no less than 30 minutes. 2) Chris Benoit: Heel or face the man puts on a hell of a show. Probably the best technical wrestler in the business, he too can make anyone look like a million bucks in the ring. 3) AJ Styles: He has single handedly been the reason I order any TNA ppv. His matches have been 4 star or higher since TNA began doing tv tapings and ppv's. He is someone that I would immediately give a midcard title too, but would definitely throw him into the main event scene whenever it needed a boost. 4) Kurt Angle: He has only been doing professional wrestling for about 8 years, but he is already a legend. He and HBK would be the immediate feud I ran with to build the company. 5) Batista: I know I will get some negative feedback for this, but the transformation that guy has gone through in the last twelve months is impressive. He went from getting booed like crazy barely able to work a match, to winning the title and having some decent matches, as well as hold the title for almost a year. He carried Smackdown and if needed to he can carry it again. 6) Rey Mysterio: What he lacks in size he makes up for with in-ring ability and charisma. He is the ultimate underdog. 7) Rob Van Dam: Great in-ring ability, decent mic skills. A feud between him and AJ Styles would be incredible and worth whatever money I would have to shell out. 8) Shelton Benjamin: The potential is endless, the mic skills are improving. Once the mic skills catch up to the potential, main events are in his future. 9) Randy Orton: I know I will get some feedback here as well, but as a heel he is only beaten by maybe Kurt Angle and HHH as most hated. His in-ring ability is improving by leaps and bounds, and his mic skills are great. As soon as the Angle/HBK feud is over this guy is next in line for a title shot. 10) Samoa Joe: The silent assasin is impressive in the ring, doesn't do a lot of high impact moves but he has great ring psychology. He has lived up to all the hype and would be a great heel in any promotion |

1.) Kurt Angle: The in-ring knowledge, business knowledge, and leadership skills needed to run a business and a lockerroom. 2.) Chris Benoit: Like Angle, the knowledge of the business, the history, the respect of the fans, and a solid all around performer. 3.) Shawn Michaels: Since his return has made almost every match a memorable one. Can make anyone look good, and with his new attitude on life and the business can be a respected leader backstage. 4.) Batista: This generations "Big Star" has the drawing power, the attitude and the look to build a company around. With the proper storylines and feuds could be the biggest star yet. 5.) Shelton Benjamin: The inring skill, acrobat moves, and amateur background to make a great champ. If given the right push could be the best ever. 6.) Rey Mysterio: What can you say about Rey? You need him. He is a huge draw, a giant babyface and a great technician. 7.) AJ Styles: Young, daring, acrobatic, and showes no fear. Give this kid the right springboard to launch from and you have a giant star. 8.) Big Show: He's a freak, he's loved by the fans. And let's face it a 7 foot 500 lbs wrestler can get the outside world's attention if promoted correctly. 9.) Brock Lesnar: If this guy can get his ego in check, he would easily be the biggest star to date, with the like of Angle and Benoit in the lockerroom, his ego could be contained. Bring this guy in. 10.) Chris Jericho: The mic skills, the move set, and the sheer charisma to make a great champ. Give him a fresh storyline and an open mic....and you got a winner. Honorable Mention: -Bobby Lashley -Randy Orton -Rob Van Dam |

If I name a wrestler who someone else has named, I won't comment on them. 1. Kurt Angle 2. Chris Benoit 3. Samoa Joe 4. Shelton Benjamin 5. Rob Van Dam 6. Bryan Danielson - This kid is for real, he could have a 5 star match with any of the guys listed above (and not because of them carrying him). This guy is the future. 7. Christopher Daniels - See what others wrote about AJ Styles. Daniels is Mr. TNA. 8. Triple H 9. Charlie Haas - If given a chance, this guy can really be something special. His mic work has reportedly improved a great deal during his short stint back in the Indy's. 10. Chris Jericho |

1.) Angle 2.) Benoit 3.) Shelton Benjamin 4.) HBK 5.) HHH 6.) RVD 7.) Lesnar 8.) Batista 9.) Rey Mysterio 10.) AJ Styles This guy stands out in TNA. See Animal's description of him. If I were going to watch TNA AT ALL...this is the guy you look out for. I'd easily put the IC title on him and let him feud with the likes of Shelton, RVD, and people like that. * 11.) Undertaker The * means he's on his way out, in termsw of retirement. He's only part timing it as is, but his credentials speak for themselves in the ring or in the lockroom as a leader. If I'm starting a business, I'm on my hands and knees begging him to give me any time he's got to get me off to a strong start, at least. |

1. triple h- there is a reason he is the ten time champion. he brings credibilty to the fed you can put the belt on him and not worry about if u have the right guy or not. and he isnt scared to put some one i.e wrestlemania 2.randy orton- he is the future of the company if he keeps his head on strait. with triple h getting up there in age randy orton will be groomed as the main guy. 3.samoa joe- the true definition of a wrestling machine the guy is 250 plus and can wrestle any style of match u could ask for. the guy wrestled hour long matches in roh he would be a major star. 4. kurt angle- wow could you imagine kurt angle vs samoa joe in a i quit match. it would be off the charts. these two could give you a hour + match. add on to the fact that kurt angle can wrestle as a heel or a face and pull it off. 5.chris jericho- i would give this guy the world to come and wrestle for my fed. the guy has so much charisma and talent he is a 5 star wrestler the only reason he is so low is cuz of his outside activitys and they might get in the way with his wrestling career. 6. brock lesner- i would just hand the big man a blank check and tell him to come on board. the guy is so talented. putting him in matches with kurt angle samoa joe and triple h would be classic battels. 7.carlito- the sky is the limit for this kid. and i believe his potential to be a face is unsurrpassed the cool gimmick i think can get over big time and his merchindice can go through the roof. his in ring abilty is getting better and is just a step below is unbelievble charisma. 8.rvd- the "fn" show would be just indeed that. a feud with chris jericho would put him over big time. i would give him the ball and let him run with it. eventually having a huge feud with randy orton over who is the future. 9.steve corino- this guy is frknn awsome. the old schooler has had a good career in ecw and roh but hasnt had the abilty to show off his stuff in front of a major promotion i think a feud with carlito would be in the booking and have a classic battle. 10.paul heyman- the mad scientist would be hard at work with writing and bookings but i would get him help so he didnt burn out like in ecw. but he would be in charge of everything the only one he would have to answer to is me of course. |
