For Christmas, my mum and dad are getting me three wrestling DVDs.

I'm thinking....

Bret Hart
R+F of ECW
Chris Benoit

Any other ideas?

You should get this so you can be better informed when you make comments about him and actually know what you're talking about.

It really is a hell of a good DVD set. Even a hater like you would appreciate some of the things on this 3 DVD disc gem.

Ric Flair's DVD set is also a must own.

The Wrestlemania Anthology is a must own, but not cheap, obviously.

Posted Image

Awesome!

The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior is short but, it's wild.

Greatest Wrestling Stars of the 80's is good stuff, especially for some of the matches.

Outstanding!

I appreciate what the guy's done for the sport, but i don't think I'd like a Ric Flair DVD. I seen a Clash of the Champions match (Ric Flair vs Sting) that I didn't like. I don't think I'm a big old school fan.

Same goes for Ultimate Warrior and Taker, however, I hate them.

However, Bret Hart has been called the Greatest Wrestler to ever compete in the ring so I really want to find out about the guy.

I've heard the Monday Night War DVD is really onesided, so I don't really like the look of that.

I really don't like the Road Warriors. They're two big hosses with little to no talent in the ring. No disrespect to Hawk, although I've hear he was a real jackass.

Is the RVD DVD any good?

The RVD DVD is excellent...there are some really great matches on there, particularly his bouts in ECW against Jerry Lynn. In terms of that style, you won't see anything better than Jerry Lynn vs. RVD...probably the best hardcore spotfest i've ever seen...

Flair's DVD is not a must own unless you are a fan of his...some of the matches on there are pretty old school, and if you don't like old school, you won't like it. I love it, but my first wrestling experience came from NWA...the best match of Flair's career (imo) can be found on that Greatest Wrestling Stars of the 80's DVD...which I think you should get, Boyd...it'd give you a more in-depth knowledge of some of the older guys...and of course you'd get to see Flair vs. Steamboat in a match that is more likely to wow you (style is more modern) than any 30-minute to one-hour type match you'd find on the Ultimate Ric Flair Collection.

Hart's DVD is something you ought to love, though, man...I hope to get that for X-mas as well...

HBK's DVD is a must-own if you don't have it...not perfect and should be re-done in the future, but it's got some great ones...

Rey Mysterio's one-disc DVD is also very good, and features the Guerrero-Mysterio Halloween Havoc classic...

The Monday Night War is awesome....possibly the best documentary wrestling wise I have ever seen. It is not that slanted....Eric Beischoff holds his own. I advise you to take a look.

The RVD is a solid dvd, but Chris Benoit's and Eddie's is better.

Road Warriors, whether you are a fan or not....is AWESOME. If you want to learn more about wrestling history, you have to own this....very informative....possibly the most imformative I've seen.

Flair, not a fan of his, so that dvd I can't recommend.

Benoits is one of my favs.

Bret Harts is awesome.

Fans of Extreme Championship Wrestling can rejoice as the WWE will be putting out a brand new DVD that will focus on some of the craziest matches that ECW ever put on. The DVD, which is titled "Bloodsport - ECW's Most Extreme Matches" will be released on February 7th, 2006 and will be hosted by none other than the former owner of ECW himself Paul Heyman.

Here is the full match listing of what you can expect to see on the DVD:

*Sabu vs. Rob Van Dam - Stretcher Match (The Doctor is In, August 3, 1996)

Terry Funk vs. Sandman vs. Stevie Richards (ECW Barely Legal)

*ECW World champion Terry Funk vs. Sabu - No Ropes Barbed Wire Match (Born to Be Wired)

*Beulah McGillicutty vs. Bill Alfonso (As Good as It Gets, September 1997 at ECW Arena)

*Tazz vs. Bam Bam Bigelow - ECW Death Match (ECW Heatwave '8 PPV)

*ECW World champion Shane Douglas vs. Tazz (Guilty As Charged '99 PPV)

*The Dudley Boyz vs. Spike Dudley & Balls Mahoney - Chicago Street Fight

*ECW World champion Mike Awesome vs. Spike Dudley (Guilty As Charged 2000 PPV)

*Rhino vs. The Sandman (ECW on TNN, February 2000)

Looks like a very solid DVD, I'll be picking it up for sure. No Rope Barbed Wire matches are always fun.

That's my next book.

I just finished Eddie's today and I thought it was fantastic. A lot of the things said in it obviously are all the more poignant since he passed away. You will choke up several times while reading this.

I also got Regal's book so that should be a fun yarn.

So I order the 2005 PPV Rewind Friday with standard mail shipping(also ordered a few other DVD's with it). It shipped Monday. I get home tonight and it had arrived today. I'm still waiting on shit that shipped before I even ordered this thing, but oh well, I ain't complaining. Guess somehow it shipped faster since it was a bigger box *shrugs*.

Anyway, I was expecting something like with the Wrestlemania Anthology, in that X amount of discs would be packaged together inside a book-like container. Nope. Each PPV has it's own case with the original box art. WM 21 even comes in the 3 disc set.

So...now I have 2 copies of SummerSlam, WM 21(Anthology only has one disc for it though), and One Night Stand...

When are they gonna start releasing some old school Rumbles, SummerSlams, and Survivor Series??? ;)

Well that means she did her job then.

She was just one of those characters who, by personality and looks, was never really conducive to a babyface. She was the bitch heel valet who interfered in matches for her men, and the fans cheered when she got her just desserts.

Absolutely correct. That's why she deserved her HOF slot. She set the standard in so many ways, especially for the women.
