But mind our younger audiences by including a “[R]” in the topic if there is any inappropriate material (lust, gore, etc.) Activity: I would prefer members at least check up on the site every day. Of course, business and emergencies occur. If this is the instance, post in the OOC forum saying your reason for absence and an estimated time of return. If you just disappear, then your account will be deleted within two weeks. Alternate Universe: This RPG takes place during the same time period as the Pirates trilogy. The only difference is that I am only accepting original characters, none of which can tie into cannons. Which means, of course, it is as if cannons never existed. This enables a whole new oppertunity for everyone else! New Commodores, Captains, Goveners, etc. Creating More Than One Character: making more characters is peachy, but please broaden your horizons; don’t feel shy to make a character that has a different alliance. Actually, I highly recommend you take on a character of opposing views than your original character. Graphics: avatars must be 100 x 100 and signatures must be a maximum of 500 x 310. You may not use yourself, anime characters or fictional people. I want only real people to portray your character. And of course, a basic outfit isn’t jeans and a T-shirt. Be aware when looking for pictures! Getting Started Picking a Character: If you want to see how many we have of each character, please look at the announcement box on the top of the board. Blue=pirates, green=neutralists, British Ally=red. Try aiming for what there isn't many of. Captains and Commodores: The only way you may be a captain or any position of really big importance is only if you prove yourself to be a active, reliable player. If eventually you want to be bumped up to a higher position or create a new character that is, drop me a PM and I will aprove or reject you. Pirate Names: Most pirates have creatively made-up names that reflects the character more than their actual name. This isn’t needed, but if you wish to have a pirate name (and that will be your registered name), then you must fill out the following chart and include it in your application or a few sentences explaining how they got that name. Ex: My character's real name: Evelyn Rose--> Red Rose--> Red = Crimson Evelyn Rose--> Rose Thorn = Beautiful but Deadly End Result: Crimson Thorn Name Picking: Please run through the members and pick a name that isn’t taken. Show off your originality! Don’t Be Mad At Me...: If I tell you to fix something on your posts or applications, please take it in as constructive criticism. I’m not out to squash everyone’s dreams of becoming a writer, so DON’T GET MAD AT ME! D’: Posting and Writing Skills Length: All posts must be 2-3 paragraphs long MINIMUM. No exceptions. Skill Level: All members must be mildly literate. I can understand there are little mistakes you can make, but it must be readable. Posts should be read over twice to ensure most of the kinks are out. Speaking: Yes, all ye must talk like everyone did in the 17th century. Pirates, of course, have a different way of slurring their words and saying quite vile things, but you must be in character at all times. No holding back. When you are done reading through the rest of the rules, please click the "!!" in the text at the very bottom of the page. The message you are forwarded to is a confirmation that you read the rules. God-Modding: We’ve all heard it, and I enforce it with an iron fist. No controlling other RPers’ characters in your posts, application, or plotting and shipping. I will find it, delete it, and yell at you. Also, you cannot say that you are at all involved with another character unless you have their permission. And if you have their permission, you need to make a side note for the admins so they know not to hunt you down. Mary-Sues: No one is perfect. Every person has obvious and not-so-obvious flaws, both in appearance and internally. If you make your person sound like a damn saint who dodges all the bullets, never is messy, always beautiful and attracts everyone around them, then I will kill you D:< THANK YOU FOR READING AND WELCOME TO THE CARIBBEAN!!
