What if obelisks could auto boost each other kind of how beam cannons can boost an obelisks range/power? Say you build two obelisks near each other and an enemy approaches one of the obelisks but is out of range of the other, then could the out of range obelisk provide a power boost to the obelisk that is firing at the enemy? The idea came from Generals where patriot missile defenses would link to each other and I wondered if obelisks could do the same kind of thing. I'm not sure how much of a boost beam cannons give obelisks. I used to do it but with unit capping it isn't a good idea to use units in that way and I never noticed a big difference anyway. Maybe that's something to look at in the mod as well? |

Charge Defences: Stacking Limit = 4 Shroud Clearing = 110% Rate of Fire = 110% Vision = 110% Attack Range = 110% At total of 4 Beam Cannons per Obelisk = 140% increase. My idea is to make the Laser Turrets charge the Obelisks. You would have to tell them to do it like you would the Beam Cannons. Maybe make the increase 115% or 120%. |

Would there really be an advantage of using turrets to boost an obelisk? The reason I say that is because if I'm understanding it right, the turrets would no longer fire at enemies and woudl instead do nothing but charge the obelisk. Sometimes you need a high rate of fire coming from numerous defenses to be effective and less but more powerful strikes isn't always as good. I like the idea of boosting the turrets output when lasers are researched at the tech center as well which would make laser turrets more powerful mid game. (Same for GDI). How about allowing Power Stations to charge Obelisks instead? |

I can make it so you only need 2 laser turrets... Charge Defences: Stacking Limit = 2 Shroud Clearing = 120% Rate of Fire = 120% Vision = 120% Attack Range = 120% At total of 2 Beam Cannons per Obelisk = 140% increase. So you will still have 2 turrets free for defending. |

I'm not a huge micro fan and I guess I would like to see linking be automatic because I'm a lazy bastard I'm also not crazy about losing some defensive turrets just to boost another. I'm not sure if there would really be an overall gain in doing that. If there isn't and with the micro factor, people may not use it.The way that Generals did it was to link defenses so that their sight radii were shared. If one turret saw an enemy then they all saw an enemy and then they all fired. With the beam cannon feature in CNC3 I was thinking that an out of range Obelisk could link to an Obelisk that was in range and give it a power boost. Alternatively there's a structure called "NOD_Silo_Tower" in worldbuilder that could be used as a static beam cannon to boost the Obelisks. Maybe just increasing the rate of fire would be good? A separate thought on Obelisks is allowing them to target air units? I mean they fire lasers, so why wouldn't a laser be able to fire up? |

Great job on the latest version of the mod which includes Obelisk linking, but I still think that this will be an option that unless somehow automated will get missed by most. I played as NoD the first time around and forgot to try it out, and the second time around I used it but then realised that I linked every turret and couldn't de-link them. |

Ahh Ok. I noticed that when a turret got destroyed and then rebuilt, it would not be linked which was good. I thought I would have to manually target it onto an enemy unit when one came near. |
