Time to do some gaming history homework!

Discovery Channel is running a short series that tells the story of video games. It's called "Rise of the Video Game". The series already started but is repeating.

http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/video-game/video-game.html

This way DGB won't be like saywhat when I mention playing a asteriods with a DX2 processor!

Well I remember the Arcade Space Invaders games coming out and then Scramble and then Defender.

I think I played a Commodore 8096 (nicknamed "P.E.T.") first. It was really a PC (yep no cosole for me as the first gaming platform!), then it was the Sinclair ZX80, then the Sinclair ZX81. I then got the Commodore Vic 20 which sucked and my mates got Sinclair Spectrums which were great. Then it was Commodoree Amigas (after the 64).

Then things got serious with Nintendo, and even more serious with SEGA, then Sony and the new boys Microsft.

I sure don't miss loading games from tape decks and then having the game crash at the end of a 15 minute load!

I relized after looking at the 64 it wasn't the Comodore I first played!
The one I first played on was a VIC-20 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VIC-20
which really looks similar to the Comodore 64 computer, it did suck like Hawk said but it was the only thing I had back then. The second thing I played on was a Nintendo still have one of those in the basement as well in pieces.

I went down in the scary basement and found one of the old cartridges, yep still have one, Radar Ratrace.

Here are what the software cartridges looked like.

OMG Radar Ratrace I had that! lol I also had Lunar Lander I think it was called, where you had (for some reason) limited fuel and had to land this moon unit on one of 3 landing pads. It was good for about 5 minutes!

The spectrum didn't look as serious as a commodore but it had loads of cool games.

Nice Rainbow! :scared: lmao

Yeah I had one where you flew around a rectangular box with what looked like a mouse pointer shooting round sun-like asteroid thingings and few others I dont' remember very well. Radar Ratrace had that annoying repetitive 3 blind mice playing in the background. smoking the other rats out after eating cheese was a bit hillarious though.
