I was playing some one on one with Ruffneck last night. The first game also had an AI on each side. I made a few basic tanks and took out the AI, then thought...WTH...might as well surprise Ruffneck  It was early in the game and he had no defense up. I stormed in and took out his power and war factory then the barracks. It was game over really quickly.

We play another game and I make some tanks but decide not to rush this time as he'll be expecting it. I also know that he'll be thinking about revenge and will have tanks this time around. He sends a small army to rush me after a buggy goes flying through my base on a recon mission very early on in the round. His first attack fails as I have defenses up and tanks around to assist in defending. I'm creating a small tank force but I'm also trying to build my base and focus on money. I push up towards his base to see what kind of defenses he has. When I get close I see about 15 tanks...more than a match for mine. I retreat to my base and he attacks with a huge tank army on two sides of my base. My power goes down and he has so many tanks that I can't stop him. I'm building power structures but he destroys them as soon as they're up.

Basically it was sweet revenge for Ruffneck and I have no problem with his tactics, but I realised that the early rushing tactic in CNC3 is almost unstoppable if done correctly, because the games' defensive buildings are so weak.

Generals was exploited by highly competitive players because they would sell their command center and use the money to make a tank army really quickly. Then hit the enemy in the first 5 minutes of the game with a huge tank force. There was no tactical chess game or anything, just sell up and build tanks and charge.

Generals though had tougher defenses. CNC3 doesn't....so this could be exploited even more now! Don't make anything but a refinery and a couple tank factories, pump em out and then bulldoze the enemy. Scary!
