That's not far at all from my place, it's litterally around the corner. Hey SOE, do you know where capital park corner flat building is? it's one block up from Builders warehouse in Voortrekkers street?!?!?!?!

Well, after getting my grubby little sxy guitaris paws on this prescious on friday night, i must say, that i am impressed.

fukc gamespot and those morons, this game is brilliant.
In all honesty, this game does the one thing that Doom3 (yes, the comparison IS inevitable) failed to do: it keeps the player interested.

I am not 100% sure as to how far in the game i am, and i don't want to insert spoilers here, as a lot of people haven't played it yet.
safe to say that i am several hours beyond the much-hailed hovertank sequence.

The first thing you'll notice in Q4 is the fact that you feel like you're in a war. you do a lot of things as part of a group rather than alone, and his makes you feel important to the conflict. The group interaction is also nice, much like the menu interaction in D3. point on a engineer teammate, and click... he'll up your armour, unless he's busy with something else.

The graphics are shiny as you'd expect them to be, what with running on the D3 engine. One thing i noticed though, was the fact that it runs MUCH more reliably that D3 - from a framerate perspective-. On my little 512 megs of RAM, D3 in high detail mode lagged whenever i opened a door. Q4 doesn't.
However, in the same breath, switchin Q4 to "ultra" mode kills my PC DEAD. D-E-frikken-D.
Some of the effects seem watered down, for example the heat blur isn't all over anymore, like they were in D3...if this is what makes the game run more fluidly, they made the right choice in my book.

The levels are pretty, detailed and, while the game is VERY linear, they don't seem to become too repetitive, all the while keeping up the feeling that you are in alien technology...

The story so far is good, and told, as in D3, via ingame sequences where you actually see yourself. (camera moving backwards out of your head, anyone). Characters you interact with partially adore you for having defeated so many Strogg in Q2, and this gets mentioned a lot. There is an interesting twist in the plot about where i am, which i am not going to spoil for anyone...

Multiplayer, all i got around to so far (between work and the single player campaign) was looking at the maps, and sure as hell they are almost identical to thsoe in Q3... this si, however not a bad thin in my books, and i presume we're going to find a lot of new maps out REAL soon for multiplayer.

All in all, i can say that i am happy with the Way Q4 panned out, and i am giving it a solid 8.8 as a score, based on the fact that it's better than 8.5 and fo some reason i am afraid to give it a 9.X score.

this game has just graped me by the nuts...
I installed it, not expecting too much and got pretty stunned in the first 20 minutes of gameplay... i hear it's pretty short, though, so i have a feeling i'm almost done with it... and it's easy... that would prolly be the biggest drawback...
