Skill Points Each level a character attains, they gain an amount of skill points based in their class, race (if they are human) and intelligence modifier. At the first level a character gains twice the number of points. I.E a 1st level rogue with an intelligence of 14 would gain (4+2)x2 skill points, so 12. At the second level, the same rogue would gain (4+2) skill points, so 6. Maximum Ranks in skills A character has a limit to how many skill points they can put into each individual skill. This limit is equal to character level+intelligence modifier. I.E a first level rogue with a 14 intelligence could put a maximum of 3 skill points into an individual skill. Skill Modifiers Skill modifiers do not count against the maximum total of skill points a player may place into a skill. Relevant Stat:You gain a bonus to skills based off it's relevant stat modifier. Racial Skills: Some races give a bonus to skills. Class Skills: Some classes give you bonuses to skills. Skill Focus: The Skill Focus feat allows you to add +4 to any one skill you choose. Magical Effects: Some magical effects give you bonuses to skills. Edited by Savarast, Feb 17 2010, 08:33:40 PM.
