Sky Crasher "Krug, why shadow grow?" "gunh? shadow no gro-" Last words of Krug and Krag, guards of the now fallen Orcish tribe of Graek. A Sky Crasher is specialized form of fighting used by many adventurers. Once shunned upon for its uncouth tactics, it is now accepted in most prestigious fighting schools, among the tribesmen of the south, and as well amongst some roguish clans. Based on the simple concept of "safety on the higher grounds", A Sky Crasher uses vantage points to bring an edge to battle. Requirements: Balance 8 Ranks, Climb 8 Ranks, Jump 8 Ranks, Tumble 8 Ranks, Brachation, B.A.B. +3 HD:6 Skill Points: 6+Int Skills: Jump, Climb, Balance, Tumble, Hide, Move Silently
Sure Footing: A Sky Crasher is first taught how to keep their footing in places others would surely find perilous. They can now take 10 on Balance checks even if rushed of threatened. Sky Crashing: Using its advantageous position over the enemy, a Sky Crasher can, and will, literally collide with the target. This ability gives the Sky Crasher +1 to attack per two levels (+2 at level 3, +3 at level 5) and +1 to damage per level (+5 at level 5). After this maneuver must roll a tumble as if passing through the targets square. If unsuccessful the Sky Crasher provokes an attack of opportunity. Overhead Mastery: Knowing that their advantage lays in the skies, Sky Crashers become adept at climbing and jumping. They get a +2 to both jump and climb. Air Bending: Using the ebb and flow of the wind, a Sky Crasher is able to more precisely aim his landing point. He can adjust his landing position by 5 feet, essentially letting him land on a target outside his normal jumping range. Sky Stepper: Using a supernatural ability granted through experience as a Sky Crasher, he is now able to stay afloat in air for a short time. For 10+dex mod rounds, a Sky Crasher can remain afloat in thin air. It can be used consecutively for no more than 5 rounds. A Sky Crasher can also jump to a position in the sky and remain afloat at that level, though unable to jump any higher from this point. Collision Buffer: By using a target as a medium between himself and the ground, a Sky Crasher can lessen the damage taken from a high fall. This lessens fall damage by 10, in addition to a possible Tumble check. Vantage Point: From the high ground, none excel like a Sky Crasher. The normal bonuses to attack from being on higher ground increase to +4 in melee, and +2 in ranged. They also gain a +2 Dodge modifier to AC being able to better assess situations. I've spoken with Sam about this and I really like the idea. It's a bit situational for my personal tastes... but yeah, glad he included "Air Bending." Who's up for some sky diving? |
